On Feb.27, Phu Giao district-based An Thai commune party committee held its 10th founding anniversary (March, 1, 2005-2015). The district and commune leaders through various stages and numerous local people took part in the event.
An Thai commune was established on March 1, 2005 on the Government’s Decree No,190/2004/ND-CP. After 10 years of establishment and development, local resident’s average income reaches VND31mil per capita per year, up VND24mil from 2005; rate of poverty households declines 2.2% in line with new criteria, decreasing 5.2% from 2005.
At present, An Thai commune has a main asphalted route with the total length of nearly 20km; 100% of rural traffic routes are upgraded.
In addition, the commune completes 15 out of 19 criteria and 33 out of 39 new rural building criteria. Besides, social welfare policy and gratitude repayment are paid much attention by local party committee and administration. Over the last 10 years, An Thai commune builds, repairs and grants 17 gratitude houses, 73 hi-unity and charity homes worth over VND1.25bil to privileged and poor people.
On this occasion, 4 collectives and 10 individuals were granted merit certificates by the district People’s Committee while 6 workgroups and 16 individuals enjoyed merit certificates by the commune People’s Committee for their excellent contributions to local development and building.
