After 4 years of operation, An Thai hi-tech agriculture area in Phu Giao district develops many products gaining the global standards (Global GAP) to export to markets such as Japan, Korea and so on.
Pham Quoc Liem, general director of U&I Company – the investor of hi-tech agriculture area said that as of the end of 2013, the company covered 36% of area, equivalent to about 140ha of total cultivation area. Every hi-tech agriculture project at the area shows high results. Vegetables and fruits alone reap an income of more than VND1bil per ha per year.
At present, aside from vegetables, fruits and banana, the company has developed some other kinds of fruits such as orange, grapefruit, lemon and so on.
In 2014, U&I Company continues to expand its cultivation area. The company will invest in a processing factory at this area to increase production value for farmers. Besides, once production models are perfected, the company will transfer technique for farmers and simultaneously cooperate with local farmers to develop material zone in a bid to meet the rising requirements of export in the coming time.
