During the recent holidays, the water music performance area on the Saigon River passing through Bach Dang walking street (Phu Cuong ward, Thu Dau Mot city) was a place that attracted a large number of viewers. For the first time, people in Thu Dau Mot - Binh Duong were able to directly watch a water music performance, so everyone was eagerly waiting. The attraction of the show was quite large, many people had to come early to have a sit for the performance. Responding to that expectation, the unique and beautiful water music performances in this program satisfied everyone's eyes.
Water music program - A special activity in the heart of the Saigon River in Thu Dau Mot City on the night of April 30 had the theme "Thu Dau Mot celebrates the liberation of the South". With the application of advanced artistic water music technology along with modern techniques, the program brought viewers extremely vivid and artistic images. Nguyen Thi Dieu Thanh, a worker in VSIP 2 (Hoa Phu Ward, Thu Dau Mot City), said: “This is the first time I've seen a water music performance, so even though I knew there would be a lot of people, I tried my best to come and see it. If possible, the program should be held more often so that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy it, while also attracting tourists...", said Thanh.
Nguyen Van Phuong, Director of Center for Culture, Information and Sports of Thu Dau Mot City, said the water music program took place from April 27 to May 1. Each night, the program had a different theme, was carried out by Thu Dau Mot City to serve the public during the holidays of April 30 and May 1. During the four performance nights (from April 27 to 30), the show attracted about 30,000 people coming to watch live and about 25,000 people watching online on social networking platforms. "The organization of water music performances contributes to raising the level of high-quality artistic and entertainment activities in the city, meeting the needs of people and tourists coming to Thu Dau Mot - Binh Duong", Phuong added.
One of the cultural activities that attracted many people coming for shopping and entertainment during the recent holidays was the Book Week at Nguyen Du park in Phu Cuong ward, Thu Dau Mot city. This was one of the activities in response to the 3rd Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in 2024 organized by Provincial Department of Information and Communications in collaboration with Thu Dau Mot City from April 25 to May 1.
During this book week, in addition to good and beautiful books displayed and introduced to readers, there were also many types of books and publications sold at preferential prices, such as discounts from 20 - 50%, more than 5 tons of used books priced at 59,000 VND/kg; Books were priced att only 9,000 VND, 19,000 VND, 29,000 VND... Every night, in the book week space, there were also cultural and entertainment activities to serve readers. Children who came here with their parents to buy books can participate in fun activities, such as: sand paintings, statue painting, writing calligraphy, folk games…
Visitors increase in tourist areas
To meet the tourism and entertainment needs of residents and tourists, tourist areas and destinations in the province also had many programs to attract tourists on April 30 and May 1 holidays. With an artificial sea, Dai Nam tourist area (Thu Dau Mot City) was the place chosen by many people to go swimming on hot days without traveling so far, and at the same time being able to have fun with many activities, like: visit the zoo, watch circus magic and animation performances, horse racing, car racing, flyboard performances... Representative of Dai Nam tourist area said that from April 27 to 30, this tourist area welcomed about 30,000 visitors.
The number of visitors to Thuy Chau tourist area (Di An city) in recent days has been several thousand per day, and the areas were full of visitors. Not only can you go on a picnic with friends and family with self-prepared food and drinks (just buy an entrance ticket of 100,000 VND/person), coming here you can also bathe in lakes, cool streams, or experience interesting boating... so many people came here to relax during the holidays.
In recent days, the number of customers at Phuong Nam Resort (Thuan An City) also increased significantly. In addition to fun activities, folk games to serve guests during the holidays, on the night of April 30, there was also a gala program "Memories of Time" very crowded with tourists. Besides major tourist areas, there were other interesting spots in the province, such as: Vuon cua ngoai, The Windmill film studio (Ben Cat City), ceramic house garden or Lai Thieu pottery village (Thuan An City)... also welcomed many visitors with various activities.
