Authorised by the Sports Authority of Vietnam under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the international event is jointly organised by the Vietnam Gymnastics Federation and Khanh Thi – KTA King The Art.

For the first time, the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) has granted Vietnam hosting rights for the two championships, including the Asian women’s solo category, which debuts this year as an officially recognised event.

Coach Khanh Thi noted that dancesport rankings in Southeast Asia were previously only determined through the SEA Games, held every two years. Starting this year, the WDSF-recognised Southeast Asian championship is an annual ranking competition.

To date, the tournament has attracted over 36 countries and territories, with more than 4,000 registrations, including 3,000 athletes and over 100 national and international judges. It is expected to be the largest dancesport event ever held in Southeast Asia.

Vietnam’s selection as host reflects growing international confidence in its organisational capacity and highlights the nation’s increasing prominence in the global dancesport arena.

To ensure the best possible performances, coach Khanh Thi is leading top Vietnamese dance pairs, Phan Hien – Thu Huong and Ngoc An – To Uyen, through a European training tour and into WDSF competitions to accumulate global ranking points.

Meanwhile, coach Chi Anh, in charge of the Standard category, is overseeing an intensive training programme in China for athletes Trung Thuc – Ngoc Anh, Minh Xuan, and Gia Linh./.
