Scholarship awarded to children
In order for disadvantaged children to have more learning conditions, at the opening ceremony of the summer, the summer volunteer campaign in Lac An commune, the Steering Committee for Youth Activities of Bac Tan Uyen district awarded 152 scholarships to children students. Besides, they also received a scholarship of VND 10 million and 500 notebooks given by Bao Viet Binh Duong Company to disadvantaged children in the district. With the spirit of volunteering, a large number of youth union members have actively established squads to support summer activities at district and grassroots levels. During the launching ceremony, volunteers guide children to participate in folk games stalls and distribute gifts to them. The Youth Union of communes and towns in Bac Tan Uyen district also mobilized, gave many gifts and organized playgrounds for children right in the opening summer programs in the locality.
Along with the establishment of youth volunteer teams, Tan Dinh Commune Youth Union coordinated with Nha Nai Rubber Farm Union under Phuoc Hoa Rubber Joint Stock Company to give 5 gifts to disadvantaged children; each package is VND 400,000. In addition, the Society also organizes quizzes, creative experiences, and dissemination of life skills and self-protection skills for children.
The summer opening ceremonies were to further raise awareness and responsibilities of all levels, sectors and society in the work of protection, care and education, ensuring that children can live, learn and play in a safe environment towards the goal of comprehensive development.
Various summer activities
Every Wednesday morning this summer, the Commune Union and the hamlet branch organize summer activities at Cay Stop hamlet Office of Hieu Liem commune in Bac Tan Uyen district. Many children in the hamlet come to participate in folk games and read books, bringing laughter in the fun summer days. Not only in Cay Stop hamlet, other hamlets of the commune also maintain weekly summer activities.
Currently, many rural children still lack playgrounds and necessary life skills. Along with that, in some hamlets due to limited conditions, it is not possible to organize summer activities to attract children. To overcome the situation, Tan Dinh Commune Union organized a contest of "Organizing summer activities for children" to enhance the effective activities of summer activities. In the competition, the unions participate in summer activities with children and improve their skills in summer activities in hamlets. The Youth Union at the commune level and the Youth Union focus on organizing summer activities with activities of traditional education of the nation, education of morality, lifestyle, and laws for children; fun and entertainment activities are organized to practice skills and improve health.
Summer activities in residential areas are very necessary activities for children during summer vacation. In Tan Thanh town, the town union organized summer activities in quarter 5 and Tan Thanh Secondary School. Children participate in summer activities with many folk games, sports and arts activities. In addition, the town's Youth Union also propagated the prevention of harmful effects of drugs, sovereignty over sea and islands, etc. The group activities help the children to bond, get along, promote their forte, talent and stay away from the wrong-doings, the negative and not useful games in the summer.
