Lively ambience of launching ceremony
In the morning of the launching ceremony of the provincial volunteer summer campaign 2014, hundreds of young people in green shirts started significant works such as making rural traffic roads, offering health check-ups and medicines for poor people, planting green trees, paying gift visits to heroic mothers and needy youths and etc.
At Dinh Thanh commune, more than 150 youths and unionists joined in making rural traffic roads. Despite hard works, these young people worked in happiness. After a hard working day, a land road was worn a new dress by a straight concrete route. Nguyen Thi Bich Van, secretary of Dau Tieng district youth union said “The over 100m road is built with the total cost of VND200mil. It seemed more beautiful than other roads because it contained strength, labor and enthusiasm of young people”.
Along with the work, after the launching ceremony, doctors and physicians of Dau Tieng district Club for Young Doctors offered free health check-up and medicines and granted 150 gifts to local needy people. At Thanh An commune, youths and unionists planted more than 500 green trees in response to tree planting festival. These youngsters also paid gift visits to local heroic mothers and underprivileged youths.
Many significant programs
This year’s volunteer summer campaign’s youths will implement 8 campaigns including urban civilization, new rural building, green environment, volunteer for community’s health, exam season assistance, volunteer white skirts and so on.
In this campaign, there are 7 large volunteer programs such as volunteer young workers for islands and borders, volunteer and brothership ceremony at Phu Quy island district, motor driving training for young workers, volunteer journey to Dien Bien Phu, welcoming Korean volunteer doctors to Binh Duong province and among others.
Pham Hong Thang, vice secretary of the provincial Youth Union said that this year’s summer campaign includes new contents such as young workers volunteer for borders and islands and seas. This program is started at Foster Vietnam Electronics Co.Ltd. in Vietnam Singapore IP and enjoys support from young workers. The program of volunteer journey to Dien Bien Phu alone co-held by the provincial Youth Union, the provincial Young Entrepreneurs Society and Dau Tieng Rubber Company’s youth union will take place at Lai Chau province. The volunteer program at Phu Quy island district includes brothership contents with offering health check-ups and medicines for young fishermen, supporting pupils and soldiers of the island.
In addition, the provincial youth union will cooperate with Vietnam-Korea culture exchange center to support Korean doctors’ delegation to offer free dental check-ups and treatments for poor children, workers and privileged in Binh Duong province.
