Ms. Nguyen Thi Trang living in Binh Nghi commune, Go Cong Dong district, Tien Giang province presented the model “Recycling garbage into fertilizer”.
A representative of HCM City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee said, the model of green - clean - beautiful lodging house had been applied in dozens of lodging house in Thu Duc district, District 12, Hoc Mon... Lodging house’s owners participating in this activity conveyed benefits of environmental protection to renters, thereby, practical actions were taken, such as: collecting garbage, classifying garbage, enhancing lighting systems, Sundays of cleaning lodging house… Benefits from this model were the improvement in people’s awareness of environmental protection. Green - clean - beautiful lodging houses have made positive impacts on local social order and security. That was the initial success of the model. Many lodging house’s owners were commended; the model has been spreading and responded enthusiastically by majority workers.
Mr. Doan Nam Le Thien, Binh Duong province Youth Union, said, environment protection’s impacts on lodging houses were large, especially on workers; thereby, living environment was improved.
Recycling garbage into fertilizer
Tien Giang province is applying the model of “5 no 3 clean” house at nearly 100 facilities in residential areas. A representative of Tien Giang province Women's Union said, to replicate this model, propaganda was important to eliminate the habit of uncontrolled waste disposal. Additionally, the embellishment of the environment, planting trees, financial support for building toilets… have been implemented in residential areas.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Trang living in Binh Nghi commune, Go Cong Dong district, Tien Giang province was pleased to implement the model “Recycling garbage into fertilizer”. She said, Go Cong Dong district had nearly 200 households applying this model. Initial investment in this model is only VND300,000. Every day, she collects garbage and put also organic fertilizer into trash to compost. Composting duration is about 65 days. Generated fertilizer has very good quality that can be fertilized to vegetables, ornamental plants, fruit trees...
According to Binh Duong province Youth Union, this model is able to secure environmental sanitation and generate fertilizers saving costs, enhancing crop quality, ensuring food safety, and generating more profits for farmers.
Mr. Nguyen Hong Nguyens said, Binh Duong province had high pace of industrialization, urbanization, thus learning experiences from effective environmental protection models of other localities was essential. Hopefully, in the future, environmental protection movement in the province would achieve more positive and practical results from rural to urban areas.
