The whole province now has around 420,000 workers living at the local lodging facilities with the price between VND400,000 and VND900,000 per room per month, up VND50,000 compared to the previous year.
Each lodging room is around 12sqm or 16sq.m. The majority of the local lodging facilities get out water from wells with the selling price of VND20,000 a month. The current worry of laborers at the local lodging facilities is that lodgers collect power cost that is VND380-VND880 higher than the regulated level with particular price VND2,000-VND3,500 a kW of power.
The province has also called for all economic parts to get involved in building tenement houses for laborers, helping them feel secure to keep their mind on work and stabilize their lives. So far, 225 province-based companies have implemented housing projects, supplying accommodations for 60,000 laborers. Many others have also given support on lodging cost for their staff with the level of subsidy at between VND50,000 and VND200,000 per capita per month.
