As we were hitting the rural roads in Bac Tan Uyen district enchanted by the cicada chirping on hot summer day, the constructions realized by youths participating in Youth Summer Campaign 2023 feasted our eyes with the manifested meaning based on good deeds, responsibilities and aspirations of youths.

“Youths are obliged to volunteerism and pioneering in political tasks, new and challenging jobs, community sharing readiness, helping the poor and vulnerable in remote and troubling areas, and availability of being everywhere and anytime that the nation calls for” was what Secretary General Nguyen Phu Trong delivered in his speech at the 12th plenum National Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Congress of the 2022-2027 tenure, and quoted by Binh Duong provincial Youth Union Secretary Tran Thi Diem Trinh on talking to youths dispatching for Youth Summer Campaign 2023 in a bid to inspire enthusiasm and aspirations of the youth participants.
Binh Duong provincial Youth Union holds the ceremony to break the ground for the construction of a charitable house in Bac Tan Uyen district
Having encouraged by the electrifying ceremony kickstarting the Youth Summer Campaign 2023 widely among Youth Union grassroots, the participating delegates and youth unionists, after leaving the venue of Thuong Tan commune Cultural Center where a provincial launching ceremony was held, have carried with them the gifts to Tu Tam Nhan Ai – a socially sponsorship establishment, a shelter to the elderlies, ill people, and orphan children.
Their visit to the Center was overwhelmed by the innocent eyes and delightful laugter after the greetings of children, making us believe in the true hearts and loving lives brought to them at the Center. Not only gifts, encouragement, and financial supports did the visiting trip engraved in our hearts, we were of great hope for lives of better luck and happiness to those disadvantaged children living at the Center.
After that, the delegation of the provincial volunteer summer campaign continued its journey for social security. The group moved to Suoi Sau hamlet of Dat Cuoc commune to visit the family of Nguyen Thi Hau. Her house was built of corrugated iron, not solid, and lacking many items. Suddenly it became warm. Her husband died, and her job was not stable as she would do whoever hired, and the two young children could not eat nor dress well.
Understanding the difficult situation of Hau's family, in this summer's youth volunteer campaign, local youth brought her family a surprise gift. Accordingly, the provincial Youth Union held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a charitable house with the companionship of the Branch of Bao Viet Binh Duong Company and Hiep Loi Automobile Co. Ltd. The newly built house will help Hau and the children stabilize their lives and strive for a better future.
Leaving Hau's house, the delegation visited Nguyen Thi Ngoc Thu's family in Tan Thanh town - also a household with housing difficulties. Thu is working as a rubber worker of unstable income. She and her two young children were living in a dilapidated house. On the occasion, the representative of LGL Company presented a symbolic board with the amount of VND 30 million to Thu's family to repair the house. Receiving the support, Thu happily said: “I am very grateful to unions, localities and businesses for taking care of me and helping me to have better housing to take care of my two children."
The construction and repair of charitable houses are the meaningful gifts to motivate the family of Hau and Thu towards a prosperous and happy life. And, the volunteer summer of Binh Duong youth has started with meaningful deeds.
Elevating the new countryside
Coming to Bac Tan Uyen district, we shared the excitement of the people about the rural roads that have been aiming for the criterion of "bright - green - clean - beautiful". Many roads have been paved with concrete and planted with flowers and lighting systems along both sides of the routes to help people travel easily, both creating spacious appearance and contributing to ensuring traffic safety, security and order.
Carrying out the local political tasks with the pioneering and volunteering spirit, the local youth have contributed to the construction of the new countryside with the youth projects. After a stage of urgent implementation, the rural road in Hamlet 1 of Thuong Tan commune has been installed with lights, ensuring technical standards to serve people's lives. The road with lights has satisfied the people's expectations for a long time.
In recent years, the new rural appearance in localities in the province has seen many prosperity and changes in the direction of improving the criteria. New rural construction is a particularly important strategic policy of the CPV and State; in which, local youth union members have promoted their active role in implementing criteria to create conditions and improve the material and spiritual life of rural people.
Joining hands to build a new countryside, the Youth Union at all levels in the province has over the past time actively mobilized and coordinated to implement amusement parks for children; at the same time, implemented the model of building public sports training areas. The public sports training area inaugurated in Bac Tan Uyen district during this year's summer youth volunteer campaign is a testament to the spirit of community service and the efforts of the Youth Union together with local authorities to carry out the mass mobilization work to participate in the construction of new rural areas and building a cultural and civilized lifestyle.
Do Ngoc Loi, Secretary of the Bac Tan Uyen district Union, said: “On the day of the departure of the provincial Youth Volunteer Campaign, the district Youth Union coordinated with the provincial Youth Union to organize the inauguration ceremony of the gymnasium in Lac An commune worth VND 30 million. The project aims to serve the needs of physical training and sports and create places and entertainment landscapes, contributing to improving the people's cultural, spiritual, health and quality of life.
This year's youth volunteer campaign of Binh Duong youth promises to leave many imprints on the spirit of volunteerism, responsibility, solidarity and creativity to participate in solving problems. The cooperation and contribution of the youth in the province will make the volunteer summer days more meaningful with a strong influence in the social community.
