Efficiency from cooperative models
Thuan An town is now home to around 8 effective cooperative groups. They not only bring high incomes to members, but also generate jobs for young laborers.
TG mineral water cooperation group is a typical example for the above mentioned thing. Nguyen Minh Nghia, a member of the group said that thanks to the attention and support of the local Youth Federation, the group was set up in late 2014 with 2 members and initial capital of more than VND500million. Currently, the group is capable of producing and distributing around 15,000 boxes of mineral water every month with the average income of VND50million. It also generates jobs for 4 laborers.
Or, Binh Chuan ward’s cooperative group on mushroom growing is also very successful. In 2015, the group was established with 3 members and initial capital of VND135million. On average, it supplies more than 100kg of oyster mushroom to the market everyday with the monthly profit of between VND40million and VND45million. It is also making many other kinks of mushrooms at market’s demand and now offers jobs for 5 laborers.
Loan support, vocational consultancy
Over the past time, Thuan An town’s Youth Union and other mass organizations also teamed up with the local branch of the Bank for Social Policies of Vietnam to set up loan groups for youths to develop home-based business. These loan groups have worked very effectively. The town’s Youth Union has so far continued helping 2 members reach sustainable poverty escape; provided more than VND13billion in loan for 550 households with difficult circumstances. In 2016 alone, the town’s Youth Union helped 37 members get loans; continued mobilizing more than VND60million for the local fund for youths overcoming difficulties…Eighteen clubs, cooperative groups in the town also continued being maintained with total investment of more than VND1billion, helping youths stabilize their lives and generating jobs for 17 laborers.
Truong Van Khanh, Vice-Secretary of Thuan An town’s Youth Union cum Chairman of the town’s Youth Federation said that along loan support programs, the town’s Youth Federation over the past time coordinated with relevant units to offer vocational training, consultancy programs and jobs to 1,380 members, young workers…The town’s Youth Federation also organized activities on improving necessary skills for 358 members; mobilized members, especially militiamen, young workers to attend classes on supplementary education, vocational training…
