According to a report by the People’s Committee of the district, the average income per capital in the district in 2014 reached VND34.5mln/year, up VND3.7mln compared to that of 2013. The district’s economic growth rate was 12.5% with economic structure reaching 41.1% in agriculture, 31.5% in construction and industry, 27.4% in trade-services. The district’s value of agro-forestry production was nearly VND3.22bln, up 5.01%. Industrial production value reached nearly VND2.2trillion, up 12.25%. Total State collection obtained more than VND133.8bln or 73% of the yearly plan. There were 99.8% of the local households in use of power. The rate of poor households in the district reduced to 423 or 1.95% of total. As many as 1,331 laborers were offered jobs or 148% of the yearly plan. The district also fulfilled all procedures to recognize Tan Long and Tan Hiep communes as localities satisfying criteria of the new rural construction program.
In 2015, Phu Giao district will strive to fulfill some key targets as follows:
- GDP per capital reaches VND36.9mln a year
- Economic growth rate is between 13% and 13.5%
- Total retail sales of commodities and services increase by 19%-22%
- Total State collection gains VND145.127mln
- The rate of poor households reduces to below 1% under the province’s poverty line
The district will also strive to create jobs for 900 laborers and fulfill the National Target Program on New Rural Construction in communes of Tam Lap, An Binh, An Linh, An Thai and Phuoc Sang.
