Bao Minh said that it had to spend VND1,113 billion to compensate for clients in 2009, a 6.7% rise over last year, accounting for 56.4% of its total revenue. Compensation mainly was in fields of aviation (up 65.5%), asset (74.3%), and human (19.2%). The highest compensation in the past year was in the fire case in New Yoto plant in Binh Duong with the sum of over US$6mil.
In 2009, Bao Minh Insurance’s total revenue was estimated at VND2,207bil, pre-tax profit at VND171bil. Bao Minh Binh Duong alone reached a 10% increase in yearly revenue. According to Le Thanh Cung, vice chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, Bao Minh Insurance is an insurer leading in Vietnam and is the first company listed on bourse in HCMC and Ha Noi.
