To help the poor rise up
Living in a spacious and airy new house is a great joy to Nguyen Tri Thuc’s family in Ba Tu hamlet, Cay Truong 2 commune. He is a 4/4-class wounded soldier, has difficult family circumstance, previously lived in a small degraded house. In 2021, People's Committee and Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Office of the district allocated VND120 million from the State budget to help Thuc's family build a new house.
On the day of receiving the new house, Thuong said emotionally: "The small house was built by the sharing, support of the government and the love of everyone, hence it is warm and meaningful to me. This not only is a material encouragement but also has great spiritual significance to help us have a stable life and work. I hope that more families, more people having difficult circumstances will be supported by the Party, State, organizations and individuals to have good beautiful houses like this."
Similarly, the attention of the local government is really important to Huynh Thi Le Tam and family in Ong Thanh hamlet, Cay Truong 2 commune. Tam is one of the collaborators who enthusiastically participates in local movements and activities but she has difficult family circumstance. She does several jobs to feed her two children alone, but her family has been living in poverty. Two years ago, the local government surveyed and presented a sewing machine for her to do home sewing job, and breeding chickens for her to earn more income. Thanks to the income from home sewing job and raising chickens, her family has overcome difficulties and settled down in recent years.
"I am always grateful for the attention and support of the local authorities and everyone that helped me get the good results today. I am now ale to provide for my two children and pay for their schooling. In the coming time, I will learn more experience, try harder to make my family more stable", Tam said.
To join hands and take care of
Social security in Bau Bang district always receives attention and gained remarkable results. The coordination between departments and unions is implemented in order to actively mobilize many resources to care for policy families, vulnerable people, poor households in a timely, public and transparent manner.
A series of programs and activities for the poor and disadvantaged people has been carried out by departments and unions in the district to help the poor in a practical and effective way, such as: Fatherland Front Committee of the district with the program of building “great solidarity” houses; Farmers' Union effectively implements the model "Good farmers help poor farmers and disadvantaged farmers overcome difficulties"; Women's Union with a movement of giving millions of gifts...
During the recent Covid-19 outbreak, in addition to the disease prevention and control, the district strove to timely implement support packages of the Government to help people overcome the most difficult period. By the end of 2021, the district provided support for more than 157,000 cases with a total expenditure of over VND175 billion. In addition, the district gave more than 71 tons of rice to more than 7,000 people; funeral fee support to 25 people with the amount of VND 500 million, supported 6 children whose parents died of Covid-19 with a total amount of VND 30 million... In addition, many district organizations and unions performed activities, such as VND0 booth, VND0 markets, free meals etc. to help the poor.
Vuong Tan Phuong, Head of Bau Bang District Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Office, said: "In order to help poor and disadvantaged households in the area alleviate poverty and stabilize their lives, in the coming time, surveys will be carried out regularly. Vocational training, job creation, preferential loans etc. will continue to be developed to reduce the proportion of poor and near-poor households in the district. In addition, the work of taking care of life and timely settlement of social security regimes receives attention and is implemented regularly."
