To timely support
The working atmosphere at Bau Bang Precision Manufacturing Company (Bau Bang Industrial Park) in December is bustling but still guarantees the compliance with regulations on Covid-19 prevention and control. This is a company specializing in aluminum ladders for export. Before the fourth Covid-19 wave, the company retained more than 80 manufacture workers. Since the disease outbreak, the company has converted to a "three-on-site" production plan to ensure safety and Covid-19 prevention control. More than 30 workers, because of difficult family conditions, elderly parents, babies, were not able to stay at the company for work. They asked to postpone labor contracts and returned to their hometown to avoid the pandemic. Now all activities have returned to the "new normal", workers are eager to returning to the company.
Bui Thi Cam Tu (from Hau Giang province), a worker of Bau Bang Precision Manufacturing Company, said: "At that time, the company's managers encouraged workers to stay and work "three-on-site". But because I have a baby, I cannot stay at the company to work for a long time. I asked to postpone my labor contract and returned to my hometown to avoid the pandemic. During the pandemic, I did not have money to cover my living expenses, so my family faced difficulties. Recently, we received more than 3.7 million VND of support money. We are really happy to have a little extra money to pay the rent.”
To feel safe at work
VN Innovation Joint Stock Company (Bau Bang Industrial Park) before the pandemic had more than 1,000 workers. During the period when Binh Duong implemented social distancing in accordance with Directive 16 of the Prime Minister to ensure safety, the company temporarily stopped production and all labor contracts were suspended. Le Minh Hoang, Head of Human Resources Department, said: “During the recent Covid-19 wave, the company faced numerous difficulties in production and business. The quantity of export orders decreased significantly. We workers were extremely touched as receiving the timely attention and support from the Government and the province. Although the amount is modest, it helps workers to stabilize our lives and continue to work for the company. At the end of the year, there are many orders, all workers of the company are also working harder to be the contract schedule.
Vuong Tan Phuong, Head of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Office of Bau Bang district, said: “Currently, the district is considering approving the 18th phase of support for 6 businesses with a total of 98 cases. This includes pregnant workers and workers having babies. In addition, the district also considers and approves other cases, such as: Business households suspending operations for 15 days or more during the peak time of social distancing; people being treated for Covid-19; groups of workers who do not have labor contracts…”
