Bau Bang district’s project on giving vocational training for rural laborers is one of the Party and State’s sound policies with the efforts by the local sectors and mass organizations in this field. The project is not only a significant policy for social welfare, but also one of major criteria in the local new-style rural construction.
Increasing incomes, creating on-site jobs
Defining vocational training for rural laborers is one of solutions for sustainable poverty reduction, Bau Bang district has strengthened propaganda work, raising awareness of vocational training, sci-tech application into production among locals, especially ethnic minority people and demobees. The district has also attached special importance to vocational consultancy and job introduction for laborers.

To Tien Quan, Deputy Head of the district’s Division of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (DoLISA) said that under the project, the district’s vocational training for rural laborers has always received the attention of the local authorities at all levels. Over the past time, the district gave vocational training for 1,067 laborers. Most of them have created jobs by themselves, thereby contributing to the local sustainable poverty reduction.
Efficiency from vocational training
Over the past time, the district’s vocational training for rural laborers reached practical results. More than 3,600 rural laborers in the district got vocational training during the 2014-2019 period and many of them got stable incomes. After being trained, many households in the district also bravely applied sci-tech advancements into agricultural production for better productivity.
It is known that the district’s DoLISA coordinated with provincial Job Placement Center and some vocational training facilities to give training vocational courses for rural laborers over the past time. The district’s DoLISA worked with the local socio-political organizations to make dissemination of information about the State’s policies on vocational training as well the role of vocational training in creating jobs, increasing incomes for laborers, especially rural ones.
Along with propaganda work, the district’s People’s Committee mobilized the local people to bravely register for vocational training classes, improving their capacity in production-business, contributing to the local poverty reduction and job creation. Hence, vocational training for rural laborers is always brought in the local socio-economic development target.
Through propaganda work, the district’s officials, Party members and people thoroughly grasped the Party and State’s policies on vocational training for rural laborers. They were also aware of the role of vocational training in creating jobs, increasing incomes for laborers, thereby promoting the local socio-economic development.
