Early April 2, Bau Bang district’s Steering Committee for Eliminating Substandard Houses held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a new house for Tran Duc Toan in Cay Truong II commune.
Mr. Toan, a revolutionary contributor and a level 4 wounded veteran, has been facing financial difficulties and lacked land for housing construction. Understanding his situation, Le Van Thuan from Lai Uyen town donated a plot of land measuring nearly 100 square meters in Lai Uyen town’s Xa Mach quarter, valued at VND 400 million, for Mr. Toan to build his house.
On this occasion, Phan Quoc Tuan, Vice Chairman of Bau Bang district’s People’s Committee also handed over VND 100 million, funded by Vietcombank - North Binh Duong Branch via to the district’s Steering Committee for Eliminating Substandard Houses, to Mr.Toan for the construction of the new house.
*On the same morning, Bau Bang district’s Red Cross Society, in collaboration with the People’s Committee of Lai Uyen town, organized a groundbreaking ceremony for the renovation of a Red Cross house for Tran Thi Thanh in Lai Uyen town’s Cay San quarter. Mrs. Thanh, an 80-year-old woman from a low-income household, has a child who suffered an accident.
During the ceremony, representatives of the district’s Red Cross Society visited and encouraged Mrs. Thanh’s family to overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives. On this occasion, the district’s Red Cross Society also provided financial support of VND 20 million for the renovation of her home.
*On April 2, the Steering Committee for Substandard Houses of An Long commune in Phu Giao district, also held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a house for Tran Thi Hoa in Bau Cu hamlet under the "Eliminating Substandard Houses" program. The house is supported with VND 100 million in construction cost.
*On the same day, the Steering Committee for Eliminating Substandard Houses of An Linh commune in Phu Giao district organized a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of new homes for the local two families.
At the ceremony, leaders of the district and the commune expressed their support and encouragement to Pham Van Mot in hamlet 6 and Vu Thi Tuoi in Phu Bang hamlet. Each family also received a symbolic grant of VND 100 million to construct a new and more stable house.
