Be more drastic in Covid-19 prevention and control

Early February 2, Nguyen Hoang Thao, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee presided over a meeting with provincial Steering Board for Covid-19 Prevention and Control with focus on reviewing the local Covid-19 prevention and control. The meeting was connected with Phu Giao district via internet.

Rapid response, right trace

As of now, the province has recorded a total of 5 Covid-19 cases in the community. The province’s healthcare sector has also taken blood samples of 1,328 cases for Covid-19 testing and transferred 1,048 relevant cases to concentrated isolation zones; imposed the blockade in An Binh commune’s Ca Na hamlet in Phu Giao district with 1,501 people and some areas in Thu Dau Mot city’s Phu Hoa ward with 11,068 people. In order to stamp out the spread of Covid-19 pandemic, localities in the province need to quickly set up groups against the pandemic, helping strengthen inspection and monitoring over foreign entries. This is very significant for Covid-19 prevention and control. Leaders of localities need to instruct and support officials, staff to take part in Covid-19 prevention and control during the Tet holiday.

In Phu Giao district, Huynh Thanh Ha, Deputy Director of provincial Department of Health said the patient 1886 was a complicated case as she went to many places, but her recent tests showed that she is negative for the virus. Hence, the risk of Covid-19 spread in the community is very low. Provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control has coordinated with Phu Giao district to boost propaganda and organize rapid response teams on Covid-19 pandemic supervision at markets in order to trace the contacts of the patient 1886.

Strengthening support for people in blockade, isolation zones

At the meeting, sectors, departments and localities also discusses ways to improve the lives of people in blockade, isolation zones, especially make support on agricultural products for people in the blockade zone of An Binh commune’s Ca Na hamlet in Phu Giao district.

Doan Van Dong, Chairman of Phu Giao district’s People’s Committee said that the district’s People’s Committee has instructed the local sector of economics and finance to mobilize convenient stores to bring goods to checkpoints, ensuring the lives of people in the blockade zone of Ca Na hamlet and isolation zones. Regarding the patient 1886, the district has also expanded a task of tracing her contacts while working with 11 communes and township to put forward measures to continue tracing the contacts of the patients.

Whilst, Nguyen Thu Cuc, Chairwoman of Thu Dau Mot city’s People’s Committee said that  the city has mobilized the local Fatherland Front Committee to support necessities, install 2 rice ATMs for people in blockadge zone of the city. The city has also mobilized 900 students in the blockade zone to announce and support supply of vegetables for people. More than 600 cadres from 34 checkpoints have supported people in the blockage zone to buy necessities. The city has also linked with banks to transfer money to ATMs in the blockade zone at people’s demand for using money.

Concluding the meeting, Mr.Thao hailed the efforts by functional agencies, enterprises, donors and people across the province in Covid-19 prevention and control. But, sectors, departments and localities in the province must be more drastic in the fight against the pandemic. Along with taking blood samples for medical tests, they need to further trace the contacts of relevant cases, especially the patient 1886.

He also asked for provincial Military Command to further coordinate with relevant units to spray disinfectant on large scale, keeping the environment clean. Sectors, authorities at all levels and localities need to further boost activities of taking care of the lives of people in blockade, isolation zones. The support for agricultural products in Ca Na hamlet must be implemented more quickly. Provincial Department of Health also need to advise the province on buying another medical equipment for Covid-19 prevention and control. The local press agencies need to call for organizations, individuals, enterprises and donors to join hands with the province in Covid-19 prevention and control. Sectors, departments and localities need to further boost propaganda against Covid-19 pandemic for workers in industrial parks.
