Ben Cat town, on May 19, held a ceremony to launch the 2015 tree planting festival in celebration of the 125th anniversary of late President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday.
After the launching ceremony, leaders of the town’s Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and mass organizations planted more than 200 trees along NB7B street in My Phuoc II industrial park and 1,000 others on a total area of 1.5 hectares at the mobile police battalion in Phu An commune.
This was of practical activities done by the town’s Party, government and people in studying and following late President Ho Chi Minh’s exemplary morals while realizing Uncle Ho’s teaching “For the sake of 10 tens, we should plant trees, for the sake of 100 years, we should cultivate people”, thereby raising public awareness of environmental protection, promoting to the local sustainable socio-economic development.
*The same day, Di An town’s People’s Committee organized a ceremony to launch the 2015 tree planting festival to be eternally grateful Uncle Ho.
After the launching ceremony, leaders of the town’s People’s Committee together with Youth Union members, pupils and people planted 125 trees at Ho Lang revolutionary relic site in Tan Binh ward.
The town is expected to plant 850 trees from now till the end of this year’s rainy season.

At the launching ceremony, leaders of the district affirmed the importance of afforestation and forest protection, contributing to protecting the environment, facilitating the nation’s sustainable development and protecting people’s lives.
It is known that since 2000, Phu Giao district has organized to grow nearly 127,000 various forest trees with the survival rate of more than 95% together with green trees planted at parks, in residential areas and each household.
In 2015 only, the whole district is expected to plant 6,000 various trees with a goal of ensuring their survival rate at 90% and above.
