Ben Cat district’s Farmers’ Society is now home to 14,540 members. Noticeably, it has over time promoted implementation of the patriotic emulation movements, including the movements of “good production-business among farmers”, “farmers helping each other in economic development”, “the entire people consolidate to build cultured lifestyle in residential areas” in association with the “Studying and following late President Ho Chi Minh’s exemplary morals” campaign. These movements have received strong response from the local farmers.

Since early this year, the district’s Farmers’ Society has launched registration of the title “Good farmer in production and business” among 10,134 members. The district’s Farmers’ Society and its affiliates have also organized 325 training courses and seminars on transfer of technical ways in cultivation and animal husbandry for more than 9,756 officials and members.
Solidarity to help each other in hunger eradication and poverty reduction is one of the local Farmers’ Society’s important contents in the movement “good farmer in production and business”. In early 2010, the local Farmers’ Society put forward a lot of measures to offer help to poor farmer households. With the spirit of “mutual affection and love”, 100% of the local society’s affiliates effectively made the activities of “members helping each other in economic development”. There were around 733 poor farmer households getting support for economic development.
Besides, the district’s Farmers’ Society and its affiliates helped many farmer households get hundreds of million of dong in loan to develop homebased business. Many effectively used the loan to rise up out of poverty and even got the title “good farmer in production and business”. As a result, there were 8,299 households winning the title “good farmer in production and business” at all levels last year, or 100% of the projection. There were also 168 poor farmer households free from poverty.
Since early this year, the district’s Farmers’ Society and its affiliates have also mobilized the local people to contribute more than VND34mln and 2,730 working days for building and upgrading 55km of rural roads, dredging and clearing canals…, aiming to make a new face for the rural region of the district.
