Paying attention to working environment
The average income of workers at International Garment Private Enterprise in Ben Cat town’s An Dien commune is estimated at between VND5million and VND10million per capital per month. Along with the 13th month salary, the enterprise has provided workers with many other allowances. It has also paid attention to working conditions for workers. So far, they have been sufficiently equipped with labor protective clothes.

The enterprise has recently innovated production lines, applied modern production processes and attached special importance to labor hygiene and safety. In addition, it has well realized many policies on salary, social insurance, and health insurance for workers. All workers of the enterprises also enjoy periodic medical examination one and twice a year. Especially, the enterprise has to date built a pre-school for the offspring of workers with a total area of 500 square meters.
Le Diem Trang, Director of International Garment Private Enterprise said that the enterprise’s directorate has always paid attention to taking care of laborers’ lives and mapped out sustainable development strategies. Over the past time, the enterprise also organized a lot of cultural-sport activities for workers; visited and presented gifts to workers who have extremely difficult circumstances; created favorable conditions for workers to improve their professional skills.
Taking care of workers’ material and spiritual lives
Not only paying attention to working environment, Ben Cat town’s Labor Union has also instructed the local trade unions at all levels to realize the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor’s resolution on “Quality of meals for workers”.
The whole town now has more than 85% of enterprises organizing mid-shift meals for workers and bringing this into their collective labor deals. On the occasion of the annual Tet (Lunar New Year) festival, the town’s Labor Union advised the town’s People’s Committee on donating thousands of gifts to workers who could not return home for Tet and those hit by workplace accidents…
Over the past time, the town’s Labor organized the annual conference honoring laborers with the “working well, working creatively” title. Many technical initiatives were also created through the “working well, working creatively” emulation movement, bringing benefits to enterprises.
Trade Unions at all levels of the town continued boosting social charity activities among workers. They also coordinated with businesses to organize cultural-sports activities, comprising of contests on workers’ singing, flower arrangement, cooking…for workers.

With significant activities, laborers will be more aware of the benefits of the Trade Union in order to voluntarily take part in activities of the organization, thereby contributing to building up the national great unity bloc.
