Le Nguyen Thanh Binh, Secretary of Ben Cat district’s Youth Union said: “The district’s Youth Union will join hands with the local Women’s Union, Center for Culture and Sports to organize a series of activities in celebration of Party and lunar New Year 2013. These activities will take place ahead and during the upcoming Tet (lunar New Year) holiday”.
This year, the district’s task
taking care of young workers during the Tet holiday will be organized with many
practical activities. This task also aims to call for individuals and
organizations to join hands to take care of the spiritual and material lives of
young people, especial young workers who cannot return home to celebrate Tet
with their families.
The program “Cung vui don Tet” (Enjoying Tet together) will be held at the district’s Center for Culture and Sports with many significant activities, including a “banh tet”, “banh chung” (traditional sticky rice cakes) making contest, folk games, a five-fruit tray arrangement contest, a unicorn-lion-dragon dance performance…The program will also present Tet gifts to young workers who cannot go home for Tet.
Apartedly, the district will organize a series of such interesting activities as folk games, international mass dancing…to celebrate Tet during the program “Don Tet sum vay” (Celebrating Tet together), which expects to absorb the participation of thousands of young workers. This is also a chance for the local youth to review the revolutionary tradition of Binh Duong homeland.
Many art performances with songs in celebration of the lunar New Year 2013 will be also organized for young workers, contributing to creating an useful playground for them. Till now, the local lodging sub-unions and proprietors have taken initiative in making plans to organize a warm and happy Tet for young workers who cannot return home to celebrate with their families.
In addition, the local Youth Union branches are urgently preparing Tet programs for young people. Most of them will organize art performances in celebration of Party and lunar New Year 2013, meetings between the local leaders and Youth Union cadres…
Phu An commune’s Youth Union expects to organize a competition “Spring camping” with many practical activities, comprising of a “banh tet”, “banh chung” contest, an elegant youth contest…
On the days near Tet, Phu An commune’s Youth Union will also hold a program “Cho Tet que” (Hometown Tet market) at Phu Thuan hamlet with such attractive activities as folk games, don ta tai tu (traditional southern folk opera)…Especially, the program will include food booths with delicious dishes from provinces and cities across the country for young workers, helping them reduce their homesickness when Tet approaches.
