Industrialization and modernization aim at development. It is necessary to have high quality manpower to reach success in the cause of industrialization and modernization. Ben Cat town has a rapid industrialization, suffering pressure of increasing the number of alien pupils. However, the locality still ensures seats for all pupils, contributing to create quality manpower for locality.
Development of schools
About 5 years ago, Ben Cat reached a rapid pace of economic development but faced shortage of classrooms. Annually, aside from local pupils, Ben Cat town soars several thousands of pupils at all levels, local sector of education and training maps out project of improving quality of education and training for the period of 2011-2015.
The first job concerned by all level leaders is to develop material facilities of schools. Annually, the local sector of education and training maps out plans to newly build classrooms in line with the national standards.
Since the academic year of 2010-2011, Ben Cat town has newly built 11 schools. In the following years, the locality has invested tens of billions of dong in building 20 new schools.
In addition, Ben Cat town division of Education and Training in cooperation with relevant units implements surveys of upgrading repairing classrooms and material facilities with the total cost of more than VND38bn.
Building teaching staff
Aside from building material facilities, the locality focuses on improving quality of teaching and educational management. Luc Kim Thanh, head of Ben Cat town division of Education and Training said that from the school year of 2011-2012 to early 2015, the local sector of education and training assigned 261 cadres, teachers to training courses on professional knowledge. Implementing the town party congress’ Resolution, the locality won 100% of managers and 99.27% of teachers reaching the set standards.
Apart from training, the sector arranges, rotates and assigns manpower to meet demand on renovation of management and improvement of educational quality in the new period.
Moreover, local schools mobilize teachers and staff to join in emulation movements initiated by the local sector of education and training. Annually, high schools work with some universities to foster and improve quality of university entrance exam practice.
Quality improved
Luc Kim Thanh assessed that after 5 years of implementing the project, quality of education in the town has been improved significantly. Specifically, rate of pupils quitting schools reduces strongly. Meanwhile, rate of pupils graduating secondary level reaches 95% and more.
Ben Cat high school alone becomes a pride of the town because of its stable quality of education and training. In the school year of 2013-2014, 100% of 12A1 class pupils passed university entrance exams.
In order to improve quality of education and training, Ben Cat town will in the period of 2015-2020 continue to build more schools and classrooms; reinforce quality of teaching; focus on improving quality of secondary level; accelerate training for teachers and more.
