Better care for people credited with contributions to the revolution

For the national independence and freedom, people credited with contributions to the revolution (contributors) were willing to sacrifice themselves and their loved ones to protect the country. Therefore, in recent years, all levels and sectors have interested in caring for contributors, due to not only the State’s regulations but also responsibilities and profound gratitude to contributors.

Solving satisfactorily regimes and policies

To express gratitude and responsibility of generations towards war martyrs and invalids, in recent years, Binh Duong Province has implemented well the regime according to the Ordinance on preferential treatments to contributors. During the first 6 months of 2016, Chamber of Contributors solved 2,517 dossiers of contributors; received dossiers to correct information about relatives of martyrs, martyr's graves, replied to letters looking for graves, sent DNA samples, announced DNA testing results, confirmed martyr's graves.

Therefore, in recent years, the work of caring for war invalids, martyrs and contributors in the province has made great achievements in all fields. Notably, in the first 6 months of 2016, we gave Tet gifts worth totally more than VND72 billion to contributors, including over VND3.6 billion of the Central’ budget and over VND65.2 billion of provincial budget. Districts, towns and city presented gifts worth over VND2.8 billion to 2,714 beneficiaries. In particular, the delegation of provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and heads of departments visited and gave gifts to 45 old and sick contributors with a total expenditure of VND90 million.

The province also donated 6 gratitude houses to poor contributors in Thanh Tuyen commune (Dau Tieng District) and An Thanh ward, An Phu ward, An Son commune (Thuan An Town). Total construction expenditure was VND480 million financed by Vietnam Kumho Tire Company. On that occasion, the company presented 6 saving books worth VND60 million to families. Besides, two gratitude houses at Uyen Hung and Vinh Tan commune (Tan Uyen Town) and 18 saving books were presented to policy beneficiaries with particularly difficult circumstances.

In addition to implementing these policies, health care for policy beneficiaries has been done well. All-level governments have raised Gratitude Fund and received many contributions from all people. “These activities have contributed to raising Party committees, governments and people’s awareness of caring for contributors and combines with other programs to support policy families to better their lives. Currently, the province has no policy families living in shelters, dilapidated houses; 100% policy households obtain moderate or higher living standards, their lives have been improved”, said Mr. Ho Quang Diep, Director of Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs.
