Binh Duong actively implements investment projects to address environmental pollution

 According to Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the province has been actively implementing investment projects to address environmental pollution in Dong Nai river basin. Accordingly, the province invested in constructing daily-life and industrial wastewater treatment projects such as: Thu Dau Mot wastewater treatment plant has a processing capacity of 17,500m3 / day and is currently raising its capacity to 32,000m3 / day, Thuan An wastewater treatment plant has a capacity of 17,000m3 / day, Di An wastewater treatment plant has a capacity of 20,000 m3 / day.

The province is currently constructing a wastewater treatment plant for Di An - Thuan An - Tan Uyen area (Ong Cu temple area) with a capacity of 20,000m3 / day, expected to be put into operation at the end of 2019.In 2020, the province will start construction of Ben Cat town wastewater treatment plant.The province also built, and put into operation a recycling plant for composting - phase 2 with a capacity of 840 tons / day.

In 2019, the province also implemented the project "Investigation, survey to build up data to assess the load capacity and forecast the quality of canals, rivers, streams in Binh Duong province". At present, collected and treated urban sewage is about 60% and expected to reach over 70% of domestic wastewater generated by 2020.

In order to implement the project on environmental protection in the basin of Dong Nai river system, the province continues to formulate and promulgate legal documents, mechanisms and policies on environmental protection according to decentralization. Specifically, the province issued the Regulation on water resource management in the province in Decision No. 04/2019 / QD-UBND dated 11 Mar 2019; promulgated Regulation on spending levels for environmental protection tasks in the province in Decision No. 13/2019 / QD-UBND dated 25 Jul 2019.Currently, the province is developing and preparing to re-issue the Environmental Protection Regulation of Binh Duong Province, replacing Regulations issued together with the Regulation No. 13/2016 / QD-UBND dated 16 Jun 2016.
