On the afternoon of August 17, the delegation led by Nguyen Thanh Long, Minister of Health, had a meeting with Binh Duong province on the prevention and control of the Covid-19 in the province. Receiving and working with the delegation were Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Head of Provincial Delegation of National Assembly; Vo Van Minh, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee; together with leaders of provincial departments, agencies and Provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control.
Dr. Nguyen Hong Chuong, Director of provincial Department of Health, informed the delegation about the Covid-19 prevention and control work in the province, such as the sample collection and treatment of F0 patients; patient treatment facilities, medical staff, vaccination, data entry on the national Covid-19 vaccination management platform... He also asked the Ministry of Health continue to allocate more vaccines to Binh Duong to finish the vaccination goal for the entire population in order to soon achieve community immunity; support anti-inflammatory and anti-clotting drugs for Covid-19 patients; continue to support human resources, medical equipment and supplies for the treatment of Covid-19 patients.
Speaking at the meeting, Nguyen Thanh Long urged Binh Duong province continue to thoroughly apply Directive 16+ to "red zones". Besides continuing to strengthen patrols and strictly handle people violating the Directive, the province should pay special attention to safety and welfare in these areas to ensure that people do not go out of their zone to control the disease; continue to accelerate the large-scale testing to separate F0s from the community for treatment; at the same time, there must be a specific plan to closely protect green zones, not to let the disease reappear.
In order to continue to improve the efficiency of F0 sample collection and treatment in the coming time, Long recommended the province to immediately consider the arrangement of medical workers to fit with the actual situation of the first layer, strengthen resources for the upper layers, avoid redundancy or shortage, allow the use of anticoagulants and anti-inflammatory drugs at the first layer, equip a sufficient number of oxygen tanks to promptly use when needed and turn F1 isolation facilities into sample collection and treatment facilities.
With the second layer, all medical units in the area must be equipped with oxygen tanks. At the third layer, in addition to building more field hospitals, it is necessary to organize regular meetings between the third and the second layers to share information about the number of empty beds, the number of ventilators, etc. to promptly coordinate emergency patients... Specialized doctors of upper layers are delegated to direct staff of lower layers.
Regarding the proposal of the province, Nguyen Thanh Long said the Ministry of Health would continue to support some anticoagulants, anti-inflammatory drugs, and medical equipment; the province must buy the rest. Regarding vaccines, when available, the Ministry of Health will continue to give priority to southern provinces experiencing outbreaks, including Binh Duong; at the same time, continue to mobilize and send more human resources from other provinces and cities to Binh Duong. On behalf of provincial leaders, Nguyen Van Loi noted opinions of the Minister of Health and applied to the province's Covid-19 struggle in the coming time.
