At present, pressure of ensuring admission targets at vocational intermediate schools in Binh Duong province becomes nervous.

Difficulty of admission
Binh Duong-based professional education network has presently developed strongly in quantity. The provincial professional education bloc had 18 schools in the school year of 2013-2014. Of these, there were 8 universities, 1 college and 9 vocational intermediate schools. Meanwhile, vocational intermediate level at universities and colleges and vocational schools attracts many students.
This is an essential labor force for development of the provincial in particular and the country in general. However, this force has yet to meet the set requirements.
Aside from some schools such as
Quality of input at intermediate schools also has many problems while students focus on majors such as health care, accounting, finance and teaching. Besides, psychology of respecting high degrees remains exists in the society, so intermediate education has yet to be appreciated highly. Many parents and students look down intermediate education level, so most of them want to study at universities.
Dang Thanh Sang, vice director of the provincial department of Education and Training said that admission work at universities and colleges obeys regulations set out by the Ministry of Education and Training. However, admission work for intermediate level in the school year of 2013-2014 remains difficult. The total students going to intermediate schools win only 45.1%.
The main reason lies in unbalance of job opportunity, income of intermediate school graduates. Some schools has yet to focus on dissemination on post-training. Otherwise, investment in material facilities for intermediate schools remains limited, so this creates a poor attraction for learners.
Efforts to improve quality of training
According to assessment of the Ministry of Education and Training, the main reason of lacking students at intermediate schools lies in low appreciation of degrees of intermediate schools.
In reality, aside from quantity of students under training on orders and requirements of enterprises, there is a large quantity of intermediate school graduates facing obstacles of job. Therefore,
Tran Dieu Tuyet Hoa, vice rector of Binh Duong Technology Intermediate School said that the school in this year recruits 860 targets but now the school admits only 400 students. In order to attract more students, intermediate schools should self-improve quality of training. Therefore, the school should cooperate with units such as Military Corps 4 Hospital, Thuan An general hospital, Thu Duc general hospital,
In the past academic year, the work on management renovation and training quality improvement shows encouraging results. It is hoped that with efforts of improving quality of training, intermediate schools will promise to train a high quality manpower, meeting the society’s requirements.
