Early May 6, provincial People's Committee held a press conference to provide information on the local socio-economic situation in April 2022 at provincial Convention and Exhibition Center. Nguyen Tam Duong, Chief of provincial People's Committee Office and Le Tuan Anh, Director of provincial Department of Information and Communications chaired the meeting.
In April 2022, the province's socio-economic situation achieved many important results. Specifically, the province’s index of industrial production (IIP) increased by 7.3% over the previous month. The figure in the past 4 months increased by 7.5% over the same period last year. The province’s total retail sales revenue of goods and services was estimated at increasing by 3.7% and 22.7% over the previous month and the same period last year. The province’s export turnover was estimated at increasing by 4.5% while import value was estimated at increasing by 15.2% over the previous month. The province also absorbed US$658million in FDI capital… In the socio-cultural field, the province promptly and fully implemented financial support regimes and policies for policy beneficiaries, workers, poor households and children. Currently, the Covid-19 pandemic situation is under control. Representative of provincial Department of Health said that the province has so far administered 6,123,131 doses of Covid-19 vaccine for people aged 18 years and over, 379,439 doses for children aged 12-17 and 45,056 doses for children aged 5-11. In the coming time, the province will continue placing vaccination as the top task; deploy 1st, 2nd, 3rd shot vaccination for all people in the province in May and set up a plan to deploy 4th Covid-19 vaccine shots; continue deploying vaccination against Covid-19 for children aged 5-11...
At the press conference, representatives of press agencies raised many questions pertaining to flooding on a large scale after heavy rains; progress of implementing policies on housing rental support for employees; traffic accidents occurring continuously and solutions to solve traffic jams at peak hours; loss of medical equipment in local medical centers; the situation of street vendors on roads... Representatives of relevant departments and agencies received and answered the above questions. Mr. Duong said that over the past time, Binh Duong continued successfully implementing “dual goals” of socio-economic development, Covid-19 prevention and control. In the coming time, the province will step up the implementation of solutions to overcome the situation of traffic and flooding, put all efforts into public investment for key projects to promote the local socio-economic development.
