On the afternoon of August 18, Nguyen Van Loi, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly Deputy Delegation, chaired a meeting to hear a report on preparation for the opening of the 2021-2022 new school year from provincial Department of Education and Training (DoET).

The event was attended by Nguyen Hoang Thao, Permanent Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee; Vo Van Minh, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Loc Ha, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee and leaders of a number of departments and sectors in the province.
Reportedly, provincial DoIT has set up response plans suitable to 4 regions: the "Green zone", the "yellow zone", the "orange region" and the “red zone” amid the complicated developments of Covid-19 pandemic. In the first 2 months of the 2021-2022 school year, pupils will study online, due to the pandemic. Provincial DoIT has directed units and schools to be proactive to set up plans for flexible and timely implementation in line with the local situation of the pandemic.
Provincial DoIT also proposed to organize opening ceremonyies for the new academic year in accordance with the time frame of provincial People's Committee by online form. Especially, the form of online teaching - learning must be focused and deployed regularly by the units to increase the time for pupils to review throughout the school year; make the most of the "golden time" when organizing direct teaching - learning so that the local teaching-learning in this school year really get effeciency.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Loi applauded results done by the sector in the last school year as well as its efforts to maintain the results. He also agreed with the sector’s plan to organize opening ceremonies for the new school year online and organize online learning for the first 2 months of the school year in the whole province; agreed with the sector’s proposals of not collecting tuition fees for the first semester of the 2021-2022 school year for public educational institutions, not increasing tuition fees for non-public educational institutions.
He said that the province is drastically directing units in returning schools that are being used as concentrated isolation areas by October 15 to the sector for making disinfection, repairing… to prepare for direct teaching. For textbooks, the sector needs to ensure the supply chain to schools. He also noted that neccesary textbooks are required to reduce the financial burden for parents during the current difficult period. In addition, he asked for the sector to complete a plan against the pandemic, keeping the local educational environment green, clean and beautiful for students to study.
