Binh Duong expects to reduce about 50% of the current number of commune-level administrative units

On the morning of April 3, the Standing Committee of the Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee held a meeting to discuss the ongoing restructuring of the organizational framework of the political system in Binh Duong province to create a streamlined, robust, efficient, and effective system. The committee also sought to gather opinions on the arrangement of administrative units and the organization of political system at commune level. Mr. Nguyen Van Loi, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, chaired the conference.

The report presented at the conference outlined the implementation of Conclusion No. 137-KL/TW, dated March 28, 2025, from the Politburo and the Secretariat. This conclusion pertains to the project aimed at rearranging and reorganizing administrative units at all levels and establishing a two-level local government organization model. In response, Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee developed a plan to execute this conclusion.

The plan's purpose is to enhance public awareness and promote unity within the Party, as well as to achieve consensus among civil servants, public employees, Party members, and the community regarding the restructuring of administrative units and the formation of a two-level local government. It is essential that by May 1, 2025, all processes and procedures for submitting the Project on rearranging commune-level administrative units to the Government are completed. The operations of district-level administrative units will conclude on July 1, 2025. This initiative aims to reduce the current number of commune-level administrative units by approximately 50%.

From now until April 15, relevant units in the province will focus on key tasks related to the Project for rearranging commune-level administrative units. The Provincial Party Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission has directed press and radio agencies, along with other related units, to create plans, special pages, and columns for communication in order to effectively disseminate information and stabilize the mindset of cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers, ensuring they feel secure in their roles. Additionally, it's important to guide public opinion, maintain solidarity, and foster strong consensus among cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees, and the community in the implementation of the administrative unit arrangements and the organization of two-level local governments.
