The Covid-19 continues to be under control
Statistics show that in the past 12 months, the Covid-19 situation in the province continues to be under control with the sharply falling number of cases and deaths. In many consecutive days, the province only recorded 1 to 3 new cases, some days did not record any cases. These are the lowest recorded numbers, since the fourth outbreak in the province. In particular, in the past few days, provincial medical system has not recorded any Covid-19 deaths, no serious or critical patients.
In the past 7 days, the number of new cases decreased, the number of recovered cases increased, and there were no deaths, every day the province recorded from 5 to 7 new cases. In addition, the Department of Health also assessed the epidemic level to the commune, ward and township level. Results show that in the past several weeks, 91/91 communes, wards and towns reached level 1 - the new normal.
From the beginning of 2022 until now, Binh Duong has recorded more than 96,000 cases. The province currently has 18 zones and facilities to treat Covid-19 patients with 4,506 beds. However, the number of patients being treated is very small, the number of hospitalized patients requiring HFNC high-flow oxygen and mechanical ventilation is very small, about 1 to 2 cases.
Summarizing data in the past 30 days, the number of recorded cases continued to decrease by more than 96%, the number of hospital admissions and treatment decreased by nearly 95% compared to the previous month.
Regarding the vaccination against Covid-19 for children from 5 to under 12 years old, the province has so far injected nearly 393,000 children with basic injections and safety criteria iof number 1. Meanwhile, children aged 12 to 17 received more than 509,000 shots and more than 6.6 million people aged 18 and over have been vaccinated against Covid-19.
Thus, up to now, the province has injected more than 7.5 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine, including more than 2.8 million doses of the 1st shot, more than 2.4 million doses of the 2nd shot, 1.8 million doses of the 3rd shot, and more than 400,000 doses of the 4th shot. According to the provincial medical authorities, people need to continue to get vaccinated against Covid-19 to ensure the safety of themselves, their families and society.
To proactively respond
Dr. Huynh Minh Chin, Deputy Director of Provincial Department of Health, said that at the end of the year, especially before, during, after Tet 2023, people's travel demand and risk of disease transmission in the community increase.
In the context of socio-economic recovery and development, there is a risk that it will put great pressure on the health care system, especially affecting groups at high risk of severe Covid-19 infection such as the elderly, people with underlying health conditions.
The Department of Health directs localities not to neglect disease prevention and control at the end of the year, enhance vaccination against Covid-19 for people, review the number of people who have not received booster shots. Each commune, ward and township must organize at least 1 vaccination site to serve the people.
According to Dr. Huynh Minh Chin, basically the epidemic situation has been under control throughout the province. All localities have successfully transitioned to the state of "Safely adapting, flexibly, effectively controlling the Covid-19 epidemic" according to Resolution No. 128/NQCP of the Government. Some localities continue to record new cases, but this number is not much.
“The Department of Health closely follows the epidemic situation, promptly directs necessary and appropriate disease prevention and control measures, not to be passive and prevent overload in the medical system. Medical sector needs to maintain the assessment of pandemic levels and necessary disease prevention control measures, in accordance with the disease situation and winter weather.
The Department of Health also strengthens the epidemiological surveillance to detect new strains early. All units and localities must strengthen the direction of disease prevention control measures; strictly inspect and handle organizations and individuals that violate regulations on disease prevention and control. The Department also urgently directs and organizes safe vaccination in accordance with the instructions of the Ministry of Health, so as not to miss any cases, especially those in high-risk groups," said Dr. Huynh Minh Chin.
To prevent and control epidemics at the end of the year, localities have boosted vaccination for children aged 5 to 17, people aged 18 and older, and people at high risk. Medical sector also checks and proactively strengthens healthcare system capacity at all levels, set up detailed plans with specific scenarios, not to be passive.
Nguyễn Văn Bảy, Vice Chairman of Di An Town People's Committee, said: “The city is fully prepared with human resources, medicines, medical equipment and supplies, ready for all possible epidemic situations at the end of the year. The city resolutely responds promptly and effectively in the event of a resurgence of the disease, ensuring that people access medical services as quickly and as soon as possible, right at the facility”.
Meanwhile, Nguyen Thi Hien, Vice Chairwoman of Thuan An City People's Committee, said that the city ensures timely and effective use of the allocated number of Covid-19 vaccines, avoiding waste in accordance with the direction of Provincial People's Committee. The city directs the local authorities to go every alley, knock every door, check each person to continue urgently organizing mobile vaccination in areas with low rate of 2nd injection for children aged 5 to under 12, inject 3rd and 4th doses for people aged 18 years and over to ensure the set goals.
