Binh Duong international women’s cycling tourney opens

The first Binh Duong International Women’s Cycling Open Tournament (Biwase Cup 2011) opened in the southern city of Binh Duong on March 8.

 

The competition attracted 56 racers in 12 teams from across the country and two foreign squads from Thailand and Singapore. They will compete in six rounds over a total distance of 550km through Dong Nai, Long An, Tay Binh and Binh Phuoc.

The yellow jersey will be given to the winner of the tournament, while green and white jerseys will be awarded to the most outstanding young racer and the team best, respectively.

In the first round on March 8, Nguyen Thuy Dung from the Binh Duong team finished first in 4’42’’74, followed by her teammate Cao Thi Thuy Trang and Chapokam Monrudee from Thailand.

The second round will begin on March 9 from Thu Dau Mot town to Bien Hoa city in Dong Nai province, with a route of 110km.
