Provincial People’s Committee, on May 31, forwarded a conference to review the ten-year implementation of the Law on Gender Equality for the period of 2007 and 2017, in attendance of Dang Minh Hung, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee.
Over the past time, sectors advised provincial People’s Committee on promulgating decisions, plans to realize gender equality for 2011-2015 and 2016-2020 in line with the goal of the national strategy on gender equality for 2011-2020. Sectors and authorities at all levels of the province also boosted measures on gender equality; step by step strengthened personnel for gender equality and boards for the advancement of women at all levels; sped up propaganda work via seminars, conferences…
Speaking at the conference, Mr.Hung required sectors and authorities at all levels of the province, especially the sector of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to actively advise provincial People’s Committee to issue plans and programs in each period; strengthen and uphold the role of the boards for the advancement of women at all levels, attach special importance to inter-sectorial coordination in deploying activities. They were also ordered to further disseminate the Law on Gender Equality by many forms; well realize supervision and inspection in order to opportunely discover and handle petitions in this field.
On this occasion, provincial People’s Committee and Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs also awarded the certificates of merit to 24 collectives, 43 individuals having excellent achievements in realizing the Law on Gender Equality for the period of 2007 and 2017.
