In the recent working visit to Binh Duong, Nguyen Phuong Nga, deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs had an interview with Binh Duong Newspaper on the part and State’s instructions and policies on foreign affairs.
Could you tell about the current important tasks of foreign affairs in localities?
To actively integrate into the world, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has specially paid attention to localities’ role in launching foreign policies set out by the Party, of which human resources training for the foreign affairs is very important.
Accordingly, many programs and projects have aimed at training basic knowledge on politics, economy, foreign affairs for key cadres. Therefore, foreign affairs sector’s cadres in localities will update the world’s situation, the Party and State’s policies on foreign affairs. And, of course, the foreign affairs’ reinforcement will spur foreign investment attraction like in Binh Duong.
Could you tell more about foreign affairs in the past years?
Over the past years, implementing the 11th national party congress’ resolutions, we have actively and positively taken the country’s foreign affairs into international integration. The foreign affairs work has been launched on all bilateral and multi-lateral areas.
In terms of bilateral fields, Vietnam has spurred and expanded cooperation with nations. As for multi-lateral diplomatic field, Vietnam has actively involved in international forums and spurred economic and cultural diplomacy to reach significant results for the national socio-economic development.
For Binh Duong, what is your idea of local foreign affairs?
At present, Vietnam has actively launched Instruction 41 on economic foreign affairs. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in close cooperation with localities has developed economic foreign affairs and been a traveling companion with localities to boost foreign economic relations.
Binh Duong is one of provinces leading in development of foreign economic relations. The ministry will boost further cooperation with the province to reinforce foreign economic relations. And, the locality should grasp requirements and its advantages to obtain effective projects and partners.
