Binh Duong provincial Red Cross offers plentiful charitable works and support children orphaned by COVID-19

On December 13, Binh Duong provincial Red Cross organized a donation of humanitarian works for disadvantaged people and supported children who lost their parents due to the COVID-19 epidemic in Tan Uyen town. Attending the event was Mr. Nguyen Hoang Thao, Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Trinh, Chairwoman of the provincial Red Cross and local leaders.

Accordingly, the provincial Red Cross awarded funds to support the construction of 2 charitable houses for 2 households with housing difficulties at totally VND 140 million (VND 70 million each). In addition, in order to share a part of the loss with the orphans of their parents during the recent COVID-19 epidemic and to help them have more conditions to go to school, on the occasion, the provincial Red Cross gave 64 children a total the amount of support at VND 320 million (each child is offered VND 5 million in cash). The total value of support for the subjects in Tan Uyen Town is VND 460 million.

* On the same day, the provincial Red Cross coordinated with the its grassroots in Dau Tieng district to hand over and put into use 3 charitable houses for 3 households with housing difficulties in the district. Total construction of the 3 houses cost VND 295 million, of which the provincial Red Cross mobilized and supported the construction cost of VND 80 million each and the rest was contributed by the families.

On the ocassion, the provincial Red Cross offered money to assist two children orphaned by COVID-19 epidemic at VND 5 million each.

* On the same date, the provincial Red Cross coordinated with Di An city Red Cross to offer chariable constructions to people in difficulties and children losing their parents due to COVID-19 in the city.

The humanitarian work supported by the provincial Red Cross in Di An City is to equip 14 sugarcane juice carts for people in difficult circumstances so that they can have more trading conditions and improve their lives. The total value of the project is VND 140 million (each cane juice cart is worth VND 10 million). On this occasion, the provincial Red Cross also gave money to support 26 children who lost their parents due to the COVID-19 epidemic at a total value of VND 130 million (each child was given VND 5 million in cash).
