Binh Duong raises Tet support level to bring a happy spring to everyone

On December 28, Vo Van Minh, Deputy Secretary of Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, chaired a regular meeting of the Provincial People's Committee in December 2022. The meeting was attended by Nguyen Van Danh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and leaders of provincial departments, branches, districts, towns and cities.

Increase budget for Tet supports

The meeting approved the budget for Tet 2023 supports. According to the proposal of provincial Department of Finance, the province would spend nearly VND 271 billion to take care of policy groups, an increase of 129% compared to the Lunar New Year 2022.

Basically, the province keeps the same support level as in 2022, the increase is mainly in supports for needy workers, by 500,000 VND to 1 million VND/person. The number of supports also increased by over 25,000 compared to 2022, is expected to be about 46,500.

In addition, the province also increases support level for some groups of policy beneficiary, such as: Vietnamese heroic mother from 4 million VND to 10 million VND/person; Heroes of the Armed Forces from 3 million VND to 7 million VND/person; family having 2 or more martyrs from 2.5 million VND to 3 million VND/family.

For officials in education and medical sectors who work away from home, have extremely difficult circumstances, cannot afford returning to their hometown to celebrate Tet, the old support level of 500,000 VND plus an increase of 1 million VND/person and a gift for each person.

The meeting also studied 17 issues, including: price list for natural resources tax calculation in 2023; report on construction progress of the Decision on land price adjustment coefficient (K) in 2023; procedures for extending the lease period of factories of industrial production projects outside industrial zones and clusters in the province; plan to organize the digital platform announcement ceremony: Binh Duong digital application serving people and businesses; settle funding for the organization of examinations and inspections of education and training sector; decide on assignment of civil servant payrolls, number of employees and labor contracts according to Decree No. 68/2000 ND-CP; roadmap to gradually reduce the production and use of baked clay bricks; housing development plan in Binh Duong province in 2023; general planning of Thuan An city, logistics development plan until 2025…

Orientations for development

Regarding the roadmap to gradually reduce the production and use of baked clay in the province, Vo Hoang Ngan, Director of provincial Department of Construction, proposed the Provincial People's Committee extends to 2025 so that establishments can relocate, converse its functions. Particularly, 4 polluting establishments in residential areas must stop operations according to the proposal of Tan Uyen Town People's Committee.

The Provincial People's Committee also collected opinions on the green growth plan in Binh Duong province 2022-2030. The aim is to promote economic restructuring in association with growth model innovation, in order to achieve economic prosperity, environmental sustainability and social justice, turn towards a green, carbon-neutral economy and contributes to the goal of limiting global temperature rise.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee required the action plan of the province must be based on the actual situation of localities, and implement the viewpoints, goals and orientations of the National Strategy, National Action Plan on green growth for 2021-2030 period approved by the Prime Minister.

Set up specific steps, select key tasks of each locality, level, and sector, and develop appropriate organizational and implementation solutions; ensure harmonious combination between solving important and urgent problems with basic and long-term problems to realize the set goals.

Organize communication, raise folks’ awareness of green growth. Review provincial regulations to amend and supplement accordingly and integrate green growth into local socio-economic development plans.

At the meeting, Nguyen Thanh Toan, Director of Department of Industry and Trade, presented a logistics development plan until 2025, vision for 2030 and orientation towards 2045. Specifically, in 2022-2025: 100% major centers will reach levels above 5PL (ELogistics - Logistics on e-commerce platform).

Form a system of ports on Dong Nai river, Saigon river and Thi Tinh river connecting with Ring Road 3, Ring 4, including An Son port, An Tay port, An Dien port; upgrading Binh Duong port to meet international border-gate container port standards.

By 2030, Binh Duong will become a satellite center of the Southeast region, a place to gather goods and offers logistics services for manufacture in industrial zones and clusters; form a supply chain of goods from manufacturers to domestic and foreign consumption markets.

Develop new modern and professional ICD logistics centers and inland ports meeting international standards and satisfying the demands of goods production and circulation in the region, including ICD Bau Bang, ICD Hoa Phu, ICD Vinh Tan, ICD An Dien, ICD Thanh Phuoc. By 2045, logistics services will become one of the important and spearhead economic sectors and a driving force for the province's socio-economic development. 

Concluding the meeting, Vo Van Minh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, asked relevant departments and branches to organize Tet supports for target groups in accordance with regulations, done before lunar December 15th, creating conditions for people to enjoy a happy spring.
