Binh Duong: Reaching hands to the poor

Provincial Red Cross Association has not only helped local people but also others in need in An Giang, Gia Lai and other provinces.

 

On hearing about natural disaster in Mekong Delta, the local society has donated VND 90 million in cash to repair 30 damaged houses in  two districts of An Giang Province.

 

From the Mekong Delta, the charity group of Provincial Red Cross came to Laba District in Gia Lai Province to offer gifts to poor people. After a long way, they offered 200 gift packages at almost VND 170 million as donated by Buddhism followers in Chau Thoi Mountain and donators in Ho Chi Minh City.

 

As for other localities, local Red Cross has paid out over VND 1.7 billion to help out the poor in Phu Yen, Quang Binh, Ha Tinh, and Thua Thien Hue after being hit by flood. The society has specially donated VND 2.8 billion to support tsunami-hit victims in Japan.

 

Along with charity work, the local Red Cross also support poor people to develop their own business. Thus, over VND 75 billion has been paid out to help 440,000 turns of people in difficulties.

 

Besides, the society has donated 81,000 kilograms of rice to feed people in need.
