PPC has issued a decision on the adjusted target of health insurance in 2016-2020 period. Accordingly, PPC assigned targets: health insurance coverage rate in 2016 to reach 78.6% total population of the province; 81.8% in 2017; 84.7% in 2018; 87.5% in 2019; and 90% in 2020. In particular, the number of insured objects must include provincial military personnel and relatives provided by Ministry of Defense’s social insurance.
To achieve these targets, PPC asked all-level People's Committees to attach health insurance targets to annual and 5-year socio-economic development target submitted to People's Councils. Relevant units set up implementation plans; mobilize all resources for supporting and creating favorable conditions for people to join health insurance; strengthen inspection and examination of law enforcement in terms of health insurance.
Particularly, Department of Health directs medical facilities to devise plans for improve facilities, equipment, health checking process, enhance professional skills and attitude towards patients, increase the satisfaction of the insured. All agencies, units, unions, and mass media in the province strengthen propaganda and dissemination on rights and obligations of individuals and organizations joining health insurance.
