When alive, President Ho Chi Minh once said: “Fatherland Vietnam would become either glorious or not, Vietnamese people would be on a par with great powers in the world or not, it is all come largely from children’s learning”. Retaining uncle’s teaching, pupils and students of Binh Duong province have actively bettered themselves in learning, creativity, self-training to become useful to society.
Practicing talent
Perceiving that learning not only for themselves but also to serve the fatherland, provincial students have overcome all difficulties in learning. Many disadvantaged students became typical examples of learning. Family of pupil Nguyen Thi Thoai Anh of Trinh Hoai Duc high school (Thuan An town) is very poor. But she was excellent pupil in many years, and was the first-ranked pupil of the last university entrance exam.
In remote areas, learning conditions are still in difficulty, but pupils and students has shown their good capacity through annual learning outcomes. Principal Nguyen Kieu Dien of Phan Boi Chau high school (Dau Tieng district) said, many pupils here were from poor households, they had to help their parents to make a living, but still achieved high learning results as pupils in the South. Annual ratio of pupils admitted to universities of the school is quite high. Especially in the last school year, there were 4 classes achieving the ratio from 32% to 79% pupils admitted to universities and given certificates of merit by provincial People’s Committee.

Annually, provincial Department of Education - Training organizes competitions, such as: Sao Khue Awards, Luong The Vinh, Olympic… According to provincial Department of Education – Training’s deputy director Tran Hieu, competitions gathered a large number of pupils, creating an emulation atmosphere in learning among pupils. Through these competitions, pupils have proven their capabilities and superior learning ability.
Binh Duong Economic – Engineering University Youth Union’s Secretary Le Ha Duong said, students of the university have implemented actively the movement "3 building, 3 against" launched by the Union. It is about building proper learning attitude, effective learning method, standard examination room; against skipping classes, tardiness and cheating in examinations.
Students of Binh Duong University have been enthusiastic about scientific research. During 2014, there were 81 scientific researches from students including many practical topics achieving prizes, for example: Research “"Acquisition enzyme amylase and protease enzymes from Aspergillus spp and application into honey starch, fish sauce production" of 2 students Tang Quoc Nam and Bui Thi Ngoc Mai.
Cultivating virtue
In every human, talent and virtue cannot be separated. Ethic education is given from primary level. In schools, students have cultivated qualities, virtues through preventing school violence, dropout, shunned social evils. Teacher Nguyen Thi My Thuong of Di An high school said, pupils were in ages that want to explore everything but lack in social knowledge, life experiences. Therefore, ethics and life skills education need to be given anytime, anywhere by schools, families and society.
Students in universities have actively trained their virtue through the movement: students of 5 goods, students building friendly and healthy educational environment. Binh Duong University Students’ Association’s President Huynh Ngoc Phu said, the campaign "Vietnamese youth learning and following uncle Ho’s teaching” has been disseminated among students through class learning, and activities. Thereby, students’ awareness has been improved, creating a broad movement of learning, training and following moral example of uncle Ho.
