On Sep 26th, Binh Duong University celebrated its 18th anniversary (09.24.1997 - 09.24.2015). At that time, Binh Duong University was the second university of Song Be province after HCM City Open University – Song Be branch. Binh Duong University has undertaken the mission to train a human resource to serve socio-economic development of the province and neighboring regions.
Binh Duong University has been famous for their modern pedagogic method utilizing the interaction between teachers and students, between peers, learn with everybody around, learn in social communities. This approach was built on the principle: "Learning - Question - Understanding - Action", which is a foundation for participants to fulfill their responsibilities for themselves, family, society, nature, is the real value that every human being should have.

The appearance of Binh Duong University in the integration context has satisfied the need for human resource training to serve the cause of industrialization - modernization of the country as well as Binh Duong province. Binh Duong University’s Management Board has developed the university as a multi-disciplinary university with many different levels, disciplines, and programs. Professor Academician Cao Van Phuong, Rector of Binh Duong University said, during 18 years, the university provided more than 60,000 students including 41,423 regular students, 18,577 non-regular students. There are about 350 masters, 22,719 students of university, college, and professional junior college level; among these, there were 8,798 non-regular students. Most of them have a job; some are undertaking important positions at their organization.
Alumni Chau Thanh Binh, Deputy Head of Bau Bang district Financial Planning Office said: “As officially becoming students of the university, we had a chance to approach a modern training program in accordance with social needs. Teaching staff were enthusiastic, professional pedagogues helping us to fill our knowledge gaps and add new useful things for our career. Besides vocational skills, we were trained in other skills of communication, teamwork, management of social relationships…”
Although Binh Duong University is a private university, the university gathers more than 700 domestic and foreign scientists taking part regularly in educational and scientific activities. Among these, there are 450 faculty members, 64 academicians, professors, associate professors, and doctors to involve in the scientific and training council of the university. Specifically, the university has built cooperative relationships with many domestic enterprises and foreign universities, research institutes of countries, like: USA, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Poland, Russia, Belarus...
During 18 years, going through many ups and downs, Binh Duong University has gradually strengthened their educational quality, reputation, and has been known by many friends in and outside the country.
Professor Academician Cao Van Phuong: “We are proud that Binh Duong University is one non-public university implementing well educational socialization, promoting social potentialities to build up a comprehensive infrastructure of classes and dormitories. Specifically, we developed our branch in Ca Mau province and has now more than 2,500 students, contributing to human resource training of Ca Mau province. These results have proved that Binh Duong University implemented opening policies in educational fields through socialization”. |
