Binh Duong, where is full of humanity

Provincial Red Cross Societies at all levels have made efforts in taking care of the lives of the local disadvantaged people through many significant campaigns and programs, namely “Each organization, individual should stick to a humanitarian address”, “Tet for poor people and Agent Orange victims”, “Mutual affection and mutual love in the community”…

Joining hands to care for the poor

After five-year implementation, the campaign of “Each organization, individual should stick to a humanitarian address” has contributed to taking care of the lives of the local unfortunate people, helping them rise up and step by step stabilize their lives.

Tran Thi Lien, Chairman of provincial Red Cross Society said that the campaign has lured a host of officials, members and volunteers with many practical activities done. The campaign has also received enthusiastic response from mass organizations, enterprises, donors…Through the campaign, many unfortunate people have enjoyed a chance to rise up and stabilize their lives.

Noticeably, the campaign has been implemented by many diversified activities such as giving regular allowances; providing medical examination and treatment; presenting gifts, building red cross houses, awarding scholarships, generating jobs…Setting up files for beneficiaries has also been made public with the participation of the local authorities at all levels, Fatherland Front Committee and other mass organizations.

Thanks to the campaign, Nguyen Anh Tai, a needy man residing at Lo O hamlet, An Tay commune, Ben Cat district now owns a specious house. Seeing Tai’s hard circumstance, provincial Red Cross Society mobilized Huynh Phi Ngoc, Director of Nhan Nghia Co.Ltd. to build and donate a Red Cross house to the unfortunate man. The house is worth VND45mln, including VND30mln from Mr.Ngoc and the remainder from the Red Cross Society of An Tay commune.

And indescribable joy came to Tai on the day he received the house. He said: “From now on, my family has a stable accommodation. I hope my family’s living will be less hard”. It is known that nearly 19,700 addresses received regular support with more than VND38bln under the campaign of “Each organization, individual should stick to a humanitarian address” over the past five years.

Towards unfortunate people

Apart from the campaign of “Each organization, individual should stick to a humanitarian address”, provincial Red Cross Societies at all levels have launched many other significant movements and programs, helping the poor, the disabled and Agent Orange (AO) victims…

The program of “Tet for the poor and AO victims” has offered much help to disadvantaged people so that they could enjoy warm Tet festivals. On the 2013 Tet festival, the whole province mobilized nearly 7,000 gifts worth nearly VND2.6bln for disadvantaged people. Under the movement of “Mutual affection and mutual love”, provincial Red Cross Societies at all levels have mobilized regular allowance of nearly VND7bln for 28,000 cases with difficulties in Binh Thuan, Binh Phuoc, Gia Lai…

Provincial Red Cross Societies at all levels have also just organized a delegation to visit and provide VND500mln as relief aid to support people hit by storms in the central region. Mrs.Lien said that the lives of people in the central region have got worse after powerful storms. The heart of the delegation was respected by the local people because “One piece of food while hungry equals a big box of food while full”.

Under the moral principle of “The good leaves protect the worn-out leaves”, provincial Red Cross Societies at all levels have always tried to call and mobilize donors to offer help to people with difficulties.
