From a work of cleaning Cai stream in Tan Uyen
Works of “Cleaning Cai stream” and “protecting homeland rivers” showed volunteer spirit of Tan Uyen district youths. Hundreds of local youths and unionists with tools of hook, broom and so on in their hands created a jubilant ambience for Cai stream.
The stream flows through 2 districts of Tan Uyen and Ben Cat. Owing to barriers of bamboo trees and broken branches of trees… made a barrier for the stream flow. Therefore, local youths implemented the two works to create a clean living environment and bring profit for local farmers.
Duong Anh Nguyet, a volunteer youth in Uyen Hung township, said “Joining in the works, we learn more about significance of environment for human life and health”.
To Green Sundays
Along to the works, youth unions across Thu Dau Mot, Thuan An and Di An towns launched Green Sunday campaigns to clean streets. They involved in collecting garbage, cleaning streets… to create a cleaner living environment and raise youths and unionists’ awareness on environmental protection.
Luong Minh Tan, Thuan An town youth union secretary, said the activities not only uphold youth’s volunteer spirit but raise local people’s awareness on environment.
In addition, volunteer students of local universities and colleges arrived at Dac Lac, Dac Nong, Dong Thap and Ca Mau provinces to involve in environmental protection. They planted nearly 10,000 green trees, cleaned 2km of canals and promulgated environmental hygiene to local residents.
Do Ngoc Huy, vice secretary of the provincial Youth Union, said environment protection campaign has been always focused by the union over years. The campaign has become a large scale movement luring local youths and people and been a constant deed, contributing to climate change control and raise awareness and action among the community.
