Addressing the get-together to mark the 105th anniversary of International Women’s Day held by provincial Women’s Union yesterday, Nguyen Thi Thu Hong, Chairwoman of provincial Women’s Union affirmed: “We are very proud of the first uprising in Vietnam’s history led by women. The image of two Trung sisters riding elephants to lead the mass uprising against foreign invaders has gone down to the nation’s history and it has been seen as the heroic symbol of Vietnamese women. Over the past almost two millenniums, the two Trung sisters’ cause and reputation have still been everlasting together with the development of the nation, which has been kept and upheld by Vietnamese women…”.

Also according to Mrs.Hong, bringing into full play the glorious tradition of Vietnamese women, all women in the province over the past years made efforts to overcome difficulties; actively took part in the local patriotic emulation movements, especially the emulation movement of “Women actively study, creatively work and build up happy families. Especially, many exemplary role-models were discovered through the campaign of “Studying and following late President Ho Chi Minh’s exemplary morals”.
Provincial Women’s Unions at all levels followed hard on the Party’s policies, applied them flexibly and effectively in the task of instructing and organizing movements in line with the local real situation towards women with difficult circumstances and those living in remote areas. The movements of “Women helping each together in economic development”, “Thrift practice in accordance with Uncle Ho’s moral example”… received enthusiastic response from all the local women and the entire community.
With the theme of “Towards grass-root level women’s unions branches, improvement of their operational quality”, provincial Women’s Unions at all levels focused on measures to raise cadres’ competence and strengthen their organizational apparatus. The staff of the local Women’s Unions at all levels were gradually standardized in qualification with flexibility and creativeness. They were also created favorable conditions to well uphold their ability and role in family and society.
Possibly speaking, achievements done by women in the province over the past five years affirmed that they actively studied, creatively worked in all aspects and excellently fulfilled entrusted tasks, contributing to promoting the local socio-economic development. Many women were also presented noble awards for their achievements in the local women’s movements over the past time.
