Today, March 6, provincial Women’s Union organizes a get-together to commemorate the 105th anniversary of International Women’s Day, the 1,975th anniversary of the two Trung sisters’ Uprising and honor outstanding women. Provincial Women’s Union and its affiliates over the past five years promoted emulation movements, contributing to successfully realizing the local targets on socio-economic and cultural development.

Emulation for poor reduction
One of emulation movements with the participation of a large number of the local women over the past time was “Women helping each other in economic development”.
The emulation movement was promoted among the local women via many significant models, namely “well-off women helping needy ones”, “Saving day for poor women”…So far, provincial Women’s Union has managed a total loan of VND425bln, helping 65,308 members get loan through 2,609 groups.
Under the emulation movement in celebration of the 65th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s Appeal for Patriotic Emulation in association with the model of saving VND5trillion launched by the Central Committee of Vietnam Blind Association, provincial Blind Associations at all levels mobilized 131,585 members to take part in saving models with more than VND86bln, helping more than 26,000 women get loan for economic development.
Noticeably, under the Politburo’s Directive No.03-CT/TW dated May 14, 2011 on further promoting “Studying and following late President Ho Chi Minh’s exemplary morals” in association with the campaign of “Building up families with 5 No-s and 3 Clean-s”, provincial Women’s Unions at all levels continued effectively upholding “Following Uncle Ho’s teachings” models. They have set up 57 saving golden books, 696 saving and loan-rotating groups of nearly VND64bln with 15,251 members; raised 18,864 piggy banks with more than VND265bln; maintained the “Charity rice jar” model; mobilized women to save their daily expense to offer help to needy cases…
Building up happy families
Over the past five years, the emulation movement of “Women actively study, creatively work and build up happy families” was promoted among cadres and members of provincial Women’s Union.
The contents of the emulation movement became a motivation for the local women to overcome difficulties and well fulfill entrusted tasks, contributing to effectively carrying out the association’s main tasks. So far, 100% of association branches, 91% of cadres, members and 67% of women have registered to implement the emulation movement.
Provincial Women’s Unions at all levels also mobilized the local women to take part in the emulation movement of “Building up cultural families, hamlets and quarters” via many concrete models; joined hands with relevant agencies to guide them to carry out family planning, take care of their health and get involved in environmental protection, make food safety and hygiene…
Nguyen Thi Thu Hong, Chairwoman of provincial Women’s Union said that over the past years, provincial Women’s Unions at all levels actively improved the contents and forms of carrying out emulation movements. They opportunely honored outstanding collectives and individuals. “Possibly speaking, emulation movements were launched effectively among women, contributing to successfully realizing the local targets on socio-economic and cultural development”, she said.
