Binh Duong’s youth always take lead in volunteer movements

Volunteering for border, island areas and public healthy was one of highlights done by provincial Youth Federation over the past time.

With their volunteer spirit for the sake of the community, Binh Duong’s youth have expressed their role in the process of the local socio-economic development.

Towards national border, island areas

Over the past time, provincial Youth Federation and mass organizations at all levels raised more than VND300mln for provincial Fund for the Sentiment towards Border and Island Areas”; donated VND20mln to construction of a flag tower on Tho Chu island, VND30mln to Vietnamese Maritime Police; awarded 27 scholarships worth more than VND13mln to the offspring of fishermen on islands…

Provincial Youth Federation also organized a journey named “Binh Duong’s youth come to national islands and sea” in Phu Quy island district in the central province of Binh Thuan. Accordingly, the delegation provided free medical check-ups, medicine and gifts for more than 300 local people; organized a festive day with many significant activities for the local children; awarded 30 scholarships, 500 notebooks, 30 sets of learning tools, 20 bicycles, 100 medical bags, 100 life-jackets, 100 life buoys, 1.6 tons of washing power to the local people and soldiers with a total value of more than VND400mln…

During the last summer vocation, provincial Youth Federation also organized a volunteer journey to Dien Bien. The delegation visited and presented 100 Vietnamese youth shirts, 100 hats, 1,000 notebooks and 20 boxes of instant noodle to pupils at Than Uyen district’s boarding-school in the northern mountainous province of Lai Chau and poor children at Bat Xat district’s Continuing Education Center in the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai; funded construction of 100 toilets for poor households; gave gifts for 5 families of former youth volunteers…

Volunteer activities for public health

Provincial Youth Federation and Young Physicians Association have regularly got involved in volunteer activities for public health. Particularly, they over time organized training courses on first-aid skills and how to prevent measles for teachers at province-based primary schools and preschools; kicked off a festive day on voluntary blood donation, especially provided free medical check-ups and medicine for more than 700 local people and 500 workers of Foster Vietnam Electronics Company. In the first half of the year, provincial Youth Unions at all levels also provided free medical check-ups, medicine and gifts for more than 2,500 people with a total expense of more than VND400mln…

During the 2014 summer youth volunteer campaign, provincial Youth Federation launched a campaign of “Taking volunteer actions for public health” with many significant activities, including providing free medical check-ups, medicine and gifts; delivering leaflets on how to prevent diseases for Vietnamese heroic mothers, policy beneficiary families, ethnic minority people and religious community in the province; organizing training courses on how to prevent measles, first-aid skills…

In addition, provincial Youth Federation teamed up with My Phuoc General Hospital to implement a project on “Paying tribute to Vietnamese heroic mothers”. Accordingly, physicians of the hospital gave free health care for the local Vietnamese heroic mothers. Provincial Youth Federation also joined hands with provincial Young Physicians Association to organize a journey for elderly people’s health. More than 650 elderly people enjoyed free medical check-ups from the program. They were also presented medicine and gifts…

Pham Hong Thang, Vice-Secretary of provincial Youth Union cum Chairman of provincial Youth Federation said that provincial Youth Federation’s activities have helped uphold the volunteer spirit of the local youth. They have built up the image of Binh Duong’s youth who are always creative, ardour and in the vanguard of activities to promote the local socio-economic development.
