FrieslandCampina Vietnam has been granted the green business award 2014 by Binh Duong Province's government for achievements in environment protection.

This is the second successive year FrieslandCampina Vietnam has received the high ranking in Binh Duong Province’s Green Book. The Green Book strictly follows three criteria – compliance to environment protection law, standards, regulations on environment protection, and following environment procedures. All its factories are equipped with standard wastewater treatment systems, as well as facilities to deal with other problems such as solid waste, dust, exhaust fumes and noises.

Its systems are also designed to separate rainwater from production wastewater. Therefore, wastewater from the factories always meets environmental standards such as grade A of the QCVN 24:2009 (which specifies the highest standards for treating wastewater for daily use) of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.

In the year of 2014, FireslandCampina Vietnam Company supports the Green Talk project of the UNESCO Center for Culture & Education (UNESCO-CEP), which sends the message of "Stop littering", and the Green Hour program in May and other significant activities.

In the past year, FrieslandCampina Vietnam Company became the unit leading in using packaging made of recycled materials. The company has used packaging with FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) logo for its beverage products.

Like FrieslandCampina Vietnam, Ton Dong A JSC’s factory is located at road No.5, Song Than 1 IP, Di An ward, Di An town with the area of more than 35,000sqm with the capacity of 250,000 tons per year. The factory’s production lines are designed on advanced technology, used environmentally friendly clean materials. With the motto of “Quality, prestige, sustainable development”, the company always obeys regulations of environmental protection, eyeing sustainable development.

At present, Ton Dong A JSC’s production lines have been applied clean materials such as compressed natural gas, biomass, etc.

For cleaner production

In the recent time, many enterprises in Binh Duong province have bounded for cleaner production. With the rapid pace of industrial development, level of pollution also increases along.

Therefore, in the process of production, enterprises and production workshops in the province have paid much attention to environmental protection.

Aside from holding training classes on improving awareness on cleaner production at companies, Binh Duong provincial administration sets out strategic goals of cleaner production from now till 2015. Specifically, the locality targets to reach 50% of industrial production workshops to be aware of benefits of cleaner production in industry, 25% of industrial production facilities to apply cleaner production measures.

Moreover, 70% of units of trade and industry have specialized cadres to guide application into cleaner production in industry.

From 2016 to 2020, the province sets out a goal of getting 90% of industrial production workshops to be aware of cleaner production application in industry. Simultaneously, 50% of industrial production workshops will apply cleaner production and cleaner production applied workshops will save 8-13% of energy and material consumption.

Additionally, 90% of large and medium enterprises will have specialized staff of cleaner production. Also in this period, the locality targets to get 90% of trade and industry facilities to have specialized-cadres applying cleaner production.

Eyeing the goals, Binh Duong provincial administration has gradually built and developed safe environment, cleaner production in industry as well as developed sustainable industrial development in attachment to environmental protection.
