Every time when a new year comes, Binh Duong youths organize meaningful journeys to the highlands, border areas and islands to share the warmth of spring with children, compatriots and soldiers.
Binh Duong Provincial Youth Union and Lao Cai Provincial Youth Union are two affiliated units. During nearly 10 years (since 2011), on every Tet holiday, Binh Duong youth go to this land, organize many exchange activities and carry out many voluntary works, such as building a free internet service for young people in border communes of Lao Cai province, worth over VND 80 million; donating winter clothes and blankets to ethnic minorities; presenting tables and chairs, learning tools, compassionate houses to border posts, schools and disadvantaged people in border areas; and many exchange and twinning activities between many units of the two provinces ...
This year, Binh Duong youth continued to implement the program "Winter Volunteer" and "Spring Volunteer" 2019 in Lao Cai province with the theme "I love my country". Accordingly, the delegation visited and presented gifts to poor ethnic minority children in primary schools in Lao Cai province. These gifts included 200 schoolbags, 100 scholarships; 100 warm blankets to ethnic minorities. In addition, provincial Association of Young Physicians gave free medical examination, medicines, health counseling to 100 people and children in this area. The delegation also visited and gave Tet gifts to officials and soldiers in border posts of Lao Cai province.

Nguyen Tan Dat, Permanent Deputy Secretary of Provincial Youth Union, Chairman of Provincial Youth Union, said: "Through volunteer activities in Lao Cai, we want to tighten the emotional attachment and share with border regions in difficult circumstances; promote the pioneering role of Binh Duong youth in socio-economic development. These activities were also to create a good environment for young people to train, contribute and mature; strengthen unity, gather youths of ethnic minorities, religious, borders and islands... ”
In parallel with the program "I love my fatherland" of Provincial Youth Union, Provincial Youth Activities Center and Social Work Team, on this Lunar New Year, also brought a happy spring to children and ethnic minorities in Lao Cai and Son La provinces by meaningful voluntary programs with the theme "A warm blanket, a golden heart". Accordingly, the delegation presented 200 warm blankets, 4,000 clothes, 2 tons of rice, 200 boxes of instant noodles and other necessities such as cooking oil, soy sauce, MSG ... with total gift value up to VND200 million.
Du Cong Phong, Deputy Director of Provincial Youth Activities Center, shared: “To organize this trip, we prepared carefully, from calling upon benefactors to preparing details for the program. In order to ensure that the clothes given to the people are the best items, when receiving clothes, we performed sorting, drying, ironing... Foodstuffs are also carefully selected…”
In this voluntary program, volunteers not only gave gifts, but also organized fun activities for the people in the highlands by cultural artistic performances. In particular, these young ones also organized counseling and propagation to raise ethnic minorities’ awareness of laws, health, cultural lifestyle; vocational guidance, employment information and necessary social issues for people in difficult circumstances, especially teenagers...
Not only at the provincial level, but also in districts, towns, and city in the province, Youth Unions also hosted youth programs for the national frontier. For example, Thuan An town held a ceremony to give a compassionate house to an ethnic minority household in Bu Kho village, Dak O commune, Bu Gia Map district, Binh Phuoc province; visited and extended New Year’s greetings to Border Guard Station soldiers in Dak O. Also in this program, Thuan An town Youth Union hosted a football and cultural exchange and presented a construction work worth VND 80 million to Dak O Border Guard Station soldiers; implemented the program "Winter Volunteer - Spring Volunteer" giving 25 gifts, worth VND 500,000 each, to policy families and disadvantaged students in Dak O commune....
