Building TDMU with Southeastern development

On the afternoon of June 24, Thu Dau Mot University (TDMU) held a grand ceremony to celebrate its 15th anniversary (June 24, 2009 - June 24, 2024), in attendance of Nguyen Hoang Thao, Permanent Vice Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Nguyen Van Loc, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Council.

TDMU is a public university in Binh Duong province, established on June 24, 2009, under the Prime Minister’s Decision No. 900/QĐ-TTg. In 2014, the university offered 22 undergraduate programs, but today its range of programs has expanded significantly to 47 undergraduate and 11 postgraduate programs, with the enrollment of 18,000 students. As of 2024, TDMU has trained over 30,000 bachelor's degree holders and 1,000 master's degree holders. The university has so far developed 20 training programs that meet national educational quality standards regulated by the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) and 8 programs winning the institutional ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) quality certificates.

To meet the demands of the new development phase, TDMU has developed and issued a project for innovation and development up to 2035, with a vision to 2045. The project sets goals and a roadmap for the university to become a regional-level university in Southeast Vietnam, integrate international standards, become a smart and happy university, and a highlight in the smart city and innovation region of Binh Duong province.

At the ceremony, provincial People's Committee awarded the certificates of merit to 5 groups and 15 individuals for their significant contributions to the development of TDMU from 2009 to 2024. On this occasion, the university also signed memorandums of understanding with important partners in and out of the province to promote and realize its development potential in the coming time.
