Buses ensure better services for passengers

It was confirmed by Mr. Le Minh Ky, who is Head of Planning department of provincial Public Passengers Transport Management Center.

Trips reduced, quality improved

According to statistics, people’s travelling demand by bus during the Lunar New Year from Feb 15th to 24th decreased compared to the same period of 2014.  Namely, transport units undertook 8,619 trips, achieving 94% target and 92% compared to the Lunar New Year 2014; transported 186,855 passengers, reaching 87% compared to 2014, averagely 22 passengers/trip.

Explaining the decline of passenger number, Mr. Le Minh Ky said: “This year’s Tet holidays were longer than previous years. Thus officials, workers returned home or traveled with their families, leading to provincial population declined temporarily. This was one of the main causes of bus passengers decline.

Provincial bus system has tried hard their best to serve people’s needs.

In first days of the New Year, traffic security and safety of provincial bus network has had positive changes. There have been no reported cases of customers bullying or arbitrary price rise. Action of selling fake tickets has been stopped.  Mr. Le Bao Trung living in Hoa Phu ward said: “During Tet holidays, I used mainly buses to travel and did not encountered any unfortunate incidents of price and service quality. If this condition was maintained, I would choose buses as my permanent transport mean”.

Inspection enhanced

In order to fulfill this goal, provincial Public Passengers Transport Management Center cooperated with transport units, bus stations to adjust bus schedules to relieve all passengers in bus stations and stops; cooperated with Traffic inspectors to inspect bus services during Tet holidays; deployed business and driver’s commitment not to speed, drink alcohol while driving, charge overpriced tickets; make announcements and inform bus passengers, prevent and handle fight over passengers, ensuring smooth traffic, facilitating safe travelling of people.

According to Mr. Le Minh Ky, especially during the Ba Pagoda festival, there will be no ticket prices increase. Inspection will be strengthened to prevent and sanction seriously violations. In addition, the center will coordinate with transport units to increase the number of bus trips to serve customers better. Traffic safety, security and order of routes will be strengthened”.
