The district now has 21 licensed mineral mines including clay, kaolin, sand, and stone on an area of 642ha with the exploitation volume of 176.3 million cubic meters.
At present, these businesses have exploited on an area of 216ha with the volume of nearly 30 million cubic meters. Among the licensed mines, there are 9 licenses under expiry.
According to Tan Uyen district People’s Committee, the work of mineral exploitation remains many shortcomings such as environmental pollution, exploitation management, and consequential improvement of post-exploitation.

Addressing the session, Tran Van Nam asked businesses to execute regulations of mineral exploitation and requested Tan Uyen district to cooperate with the local department of Environment and Natural Resources to set out concrete plans for the work of mineral exploitation.
In terms of the environmental pollution, the functional agencies should spur inspections to ensure local people’s health and life.
