Under regulations of Ministry of Education and Training, from August 1 on, colleges and universities begin their acceptance of application for enrolment consideration in the first stage of 2015. The starting date was on weekend; however, the candidates had been so eager to visit the colleges and universities to submit their applications. This happened the same way in local colleges and universities.
Being a public institution, Thu Dau Mot University is attractive the candidates regarding the university enrolment consideration. Within August 1, large amount of candidates visited the university. To facilitate their applications, the university has organized a consultancy section to answer questions and ease their worries, covering application fill-up and career selection. Mr. Nguyen Van Hiep, the President of Thu Dau Mot University, informed that the university only accepts candidates having results at the recent examinations to consider their enrolment. Applications of all the candidates eligible for the consideration will be accepted. After the first stage consideration, the university will consider enrolment in accordance with departments and result prioritization until completing the placement.

By the end of July, Ministry of Education and Training announced the bottom line mark of enrolment to ensure college and university entrance quality. Accordingly, 15 mark points are for enrolment consideration to universities and 12 for colleges regarding the total mark points of 3 testing subjects (not applying multiplying factors on main subjecst). Regarding the preliminary consideration, a candidate can only register for 4 departments by priority order in only university of his/her choice.
At private universities, this year’s enrolment time eyes lesser activities but enrolment candidates are still attracted to those universities where considerations are made for both high school graduation test results and school reports. This gives under-qualified candidates opportunities to be enrolled to colleges and universities. Mr. Tran Thanh Vu, Deputy President of Binh Duong Provincial University of Economics and Technology, announced the enrolment target for 1,500 students to college and university. The mention target is for 30% of enrolment by exam result consideration and 70% by exam result and school report consideration.
Binh Duong University also plan their own enrolment principles by approving the highest achieved students at national high school graduation contest to the lowest ones along with consideration for priority by region and subjects.
By our observation, the enrolling candidates are cautious for their choices. Those of mark points at the bottom line may choose those private institutions of low competition rates. They have also investigated enrolment mark points of previous years to gain higher opportunities.
Only in the first day of enrolment consideration, Thu Dau Mot University eyed over 1,100 candidates registering. Also by our observation, they pay more attention to local institutions. This proves that local universities are gradually confirmed of their names, creating trust among the public regarding the training quality.
Within 20 days from August 1 through 20, they are allowed to withdraw their applications for correction. And, by this regulation, every 3 days, the institutions are required to announce their listing of consideration by ordinary number for the candidates to refer to. From August 25 through September 15, the candidates can make use of their remaining 3 result certificates to apply for additional enrolment consideration in stage 1. The additional enrolment for stage 2 is expected to be from September 2 through October 5, and the stage 3 from October 10 through 25.
